I have been designing floral's for over 3 years now. I have recently got into the wedding industry when I moved here 2 years ago. I was apart of an amazing team and learned under another amazing designer in the area. Now I am embarking on this journey of starting my own floral designing business. Believe it or not, we often have people ask if our pictures throughout our website are showing a mix of fresh and faux and…no they aren’t! Although fresh florals are pretty, we are totally in love with poser-blooms all the way here and that’s what we design 100% of our orders with.

Wood & Word Blooms is run by a Jen Angle, former teacher of 20+ years and specializes in using hand-painted wood flowers along with a faux, dried and preserved florals (nothing fresh here) to bring your wedding vision to life not just for that one glorious day but forever. Besides designing for you, I also offer DIY Wood Flower Experiences to create your wedding florals alongside me in person or virtually and 1:1 sessions to help DIY brides learn to do it themselves.

My love for floral design began inside the horticulture classroom at my high school. That classroom played a pivotal role in allowing me to be creative in ways that I never had been before. When I left for college, My goal was to study business in order to operate my own Floral Business but I quickly lost track of that dream. The pandemic served as a wake up call for me just like it did for so many others. Allowing me to rediscover my love for flowers and all things beautiful. In 2016, I started looking for creative alternatives to fresh flowers. I saw an advertisement for WOOD flower arrangements and was intrigued. I quickly ordered a centerpiece and when it arrived, I was so amazed by the product that I took the flowers apart to see how they were made. It was fascinating to me that someone would think to use the wood from a plant to make flowers. Fast forward a couple months and I started ordering raw undyed flowers, dove in headfirst, and fell in love!
