Merinda Starnes has performed as a solo, orchestra, and ensemble musician since 2007. She received her degree in harp performance from the University of Utah studying under Dr. Cathy Clayton. During her college career, she performed with the University of Utah and University of Arizona’s Wind Ensemble and Philharmonic as their principal harpist. ​Her solo performing career started at the age of 9, which has included performances at local city creative art concerts, church and religious meetings, as well as weddings, business and corporate events. She is currently the principal harpist for Skyward Symphony.

I started my education as a professional harpist at Utah State University. In May of 2020 I graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelors in Music with emphasis in the harp. Playing the harp is a dream come true. I love to get my hands on a brand new piece and start studying it. Performing my pieces is another one of my favorite things, as it is my way of giving back to my family, friends, and community. I also have a passion for teaching the harp and love to share my knowledge and talent with others.
