Whaleback Vineyard is a family owned and operated vineyard and winery located on a picturesque farm in southern Vermont. Our historic remodeled barn sets the perfect backdrop for a rustic Vermont wedding. The barn overlooks our scenic vineyard set against the beautiful Green Mountains and Lake St. Catherine. The Whitehall Armory was originally built in 1899 to repel attacks from the English if they were to return to New York by way of Lake Champlain. Recently remodeled in 2023, it is furnished with fine antiques and many rare and beautiful works of art. The bridal sweet is 2000 square feet and is simply stunning. The Grand Hall is 12,000 square feet with 35 foot ceilings of solid woods and structural steel. Located in the Village of Whitehall New York, this castle is located in the birthplace of the United States Navy. There is as much history in this venue as there is beauty and warmth. Kathy and John chased a dream to move to Vermont and start a farm, having had careers as science teachers in the Philadelphia area. Kathy had attended University of Vermont, fell in love with the state, and vowed to return one day. John left teaching to take his lifelong organic gardening passion to the next level. They looked at a number of farms across southern Vermont, and when they found the Farm at Williams River House, they knew they had found someplace really special – a front row view of Fox Chair Mountain, verdant green hayfields, timeless stone walls and split rail fences, and a stately home dating back to the time of our nation’s founding! They were home, and they wanted to share this magical and romantic space with others.
