I spent 20 years in the corporate world as a Graphic Designer, and baking was something that I always gravitated to when I felt stressed out. During the pandemic, I found myself in the kitchen a lot. I was constantly trying out new recipes and techniques, growing my arsenal of skills, and learning how to batch bake. I also spent that time setting up my business one block at a time, slowly creating a solid foundation of clients like you that enjoy what I make just as much as I do!

Hi! I started making cakes at the beginning of 2019 and realized quickly that I could do this ALL DAY. I love that cakes aren't just for eating. While they are soooo delicious they are also beautiful and symbols of celebration. Whether it's painted buttercream, classical piping, or ephemeral 3D florals, A cake can elevate a party, it can create a focal point, and best of all, it can be that wedding accessory that helps us create those memories we will cherish forever. A coal miner’s daughter and Prestonsburg native, Jackie was born and raised in a “holler” in Eastern KY. She attributes her work ethic and passion for her craft to her mother and grandmothers.

Bae’s Baekery™, LLC began in January 2019 when Abigail Mattingly was gifted a Kitchen Aid mixer for the holidays. She had baked her entire life, but was allowed to explore more avenues previously unavailable upon receiving the mixer. She was already baking for family and friends throughout the holidays, but began to crank out more products, including cookies, eclairs, bagels, and other pastries, and was advised continuously to begin selling her products.

I think it’s hard in this day and age for a lot of people to stop and appreciate something that is so detailed and crafted by hand, to imagine that every stamen, every petal, every bud, every calyx, and every color is made individually and then combined together to make a sugar flower. Often hundreds of steps. Then each flower, each stem of leaves, is combined to make an entire sugar flower arrangement. One cake. When I started out I mainly did cupcakes, but through the years my great 12 years of being in business, I have mastered so many other things.
