As excited as I am to get to the dancefloor with you guys, I know a lot of planning goes into making your day special. As your photographer, I’ve been to a few weddings and am just a call or text away from any insight you might want. I approach every wedding with the same mentality, how can I tell the story of today in the most real way possible? I’ve found the best way to do that is to just be me. I allow myself to be present and listen to the stories unfold throughout the day.

“Gabe did a terrific job capturing our wedding day. He is super talented and we feel so fortunate to have had him photograph our wedding. Our details changed several times with COVID and Gabe was always one step ahead, making sure he could accommodate whatever changes were made. On our wedding day Gabe went above and beyond, working behind the scenes to cultivate pictures of such treasured moments. Most of our photos were candid, which was something that was important to us and Gabe also highlights. My husband and I really valued his authenticity and communication skills. “If you want your wedding day to be captured like an art piece, like an actual movie or magical music video, hire Julia. I cannot recommend Margo Sees Stars enough! I knew I wanted a video of our big day because A) my memory (for the little details) sucks and B) I knew seeing the movement and all the sweet in-between moments in live footage would be so much more meaningful to me than just still photography. But I also am not drawn to super traditional sappy wedding video treatments. Julia took it to another level. I don't remember how I found her but she was the first vendor I booked and it was an A move and worth absolutely every penny. I fell in love with her Wes Anderson style, her eye for minimalism and fun candid moments, her editing and music choices. I felt such joy watching her videos of other peoples weddings, I couldn't imagine how good I would feel watching my own in her beautifully unique film style. Cut to my wedding day, not that this is totally mandatory but she was a complete fly on the wall. Obviously I was a bit preoccupied but I barely remember seeing her there, to the point that later on I was worried she may not have captured enough of the day because WHERE WAS SHE?! But she caught EVERY moment. Moments I was too anxious to pay attention to, or wasn't present for, or was having too much fun to remember. But I'm SO happy to be able to see them in the final video. It was 100x more than I dreamed of. Myself, my husband, our families, we all wept watching it. The music was so perfectly edited to the shots. Honestly I was anxious to pick a song without seeing the footage so I just gave her a few songs and bands I liked and the general vibe I wanted, and she completely NAILED it. She was also hugely accommodating to my editing process (I'm also a creative so I was a bit nit picky), and super communicative along the way when needed. But there was barely any need for it. You just let her do her thing and she makes absolute artistic magic. Not to mention she sends you the raw footage in an adorable package filled with Hershey's kisses and a camera-shaped USB key. I loved my wedding day but the moments are so fleeting, it goes by so quickly and then its gone forever, and it's lovely to have photographs of the day, but I'm telling you, having such a uniquely beautiful video art piece to watch when you want to smile really hits different. GO HIRE MARGO SEES STARS!”

“Shukhrat and his wife Rachel just shot our June 8th wedding and we couldn't be happier. They were amazing to work with and the photos are phenomenal! About the pictures: Shukhrat is versatile and very skilled. When we took our engagement photos he provided us with various styles of photos and editing, and then used our feedback to guide the photos he took at our wedding. He is also flexible. We got married in a city park and there were wayyyy more people in the park than we were expecting at 6:00pm at night. Without missing any of the candid details or true-to-life colors that we wanted, Shukhrat was able to frame the photos and/or alter the lighting so that the park goers were barely visible in the background. Both Shukhrat and Rachel are also very skilled at giving direction when needed, but letting you do your own thing the rest of the time. Neither my husband nor I have a lot of experience in front of a camera—they gave us enough direction to feel confident, without making us feel stifled or overly posed. We wanted photos that felt organic and genuine, and they were really able to capture that. Working with Shukhrat and Rachel: The two of them were a dream to work with. Incredibly professional--very communicative, punctual, quick turnaround time on photos. And they are also just lovely people. You spend so much time on your wedding day with your photographers, it's really important to feel comfortable with them, and we certainly did. They brought both a fun, but calming energy, easing our pre-wedding jitters before the ceremony, and leaning into the excitement as the night went on. “It was love at first sight when I found Blooming Faith Photography on Zola! I was struck by the classic style of the portraits and natural air of those being photographed. It was exactly what I was looking for! Melissa was quick to respond to my inquiry and provided all the info I needed right off the bat. She is detailed and thorough in her correspondence and planning, which I appreciated since we only had 5 months to plan our wedding long distance. She offered an introductory Zoom consultation to discuss our vision for the photos so we could feel at ease leading up to the actual day. When the time came, Melissa was the consummate professional! We did a First Look shoot, and she lead the way completely, to avoid any awkward mishaps and to insure we got the moment captured on our video as well. All of our formal photos were posed beautifully and naturally, and she timed it all perfectly (which was great, because it was quite cold!) She’s also great with kids! It’s hard to know what the perfect wedding will look like ahead of time, and although we had some vague general ideas and a couple weirdly specific requests, we weren’t really sure about how it would all come together. Kate and Jen took the time to listen to us, giving us formal questions and plenty of their time to talk things out informally. It felt like they immediately got what we were saying and had ideas about how to make our wedding come to life. They were honest when they thought something might not work, and creative when we were trying to come up with solutions to an issue. All of that was so important because it could often feel really hard to plan a wedding while managing two busy careers and everything else in our lives, and it was so reassuring to know we had them making sure everything was on track. Their experience and their willingness to get to know us made everything come together that whole weekend in a way we’ll never forget. The best part about working with Kate and Jen is how much they clearly LOVE what they do, and truly feel invested in the couples that they are planning with. “We are absolutely obsessed with our wedding photos and videos! This team seriously brought their A-game and made our special day even more magical. From the start, they were super chill and easy to work with. On the big day, they were like ninjas, capturing every awesome moment without being in the way. “I truly cannot put into words how amazing our entire experience was from start to finish. We found John and Avec L'Amour through our photographer, Heather Soucy. She told me that her family even used John for her brother's wedding because of everyone she has worked with, she trusted him to document their special day in the best way. That spoke volumes to me. When I say these two are a 'dream team' I am not kidding. As someone who had never been professionally photographed or video'd before, I was really nervous about looking and feeling awkward. John made my husband, Mike, and me feel SO comfortable throughout the whole day. It was so cool seeing these two incredibly creative minds feeding off each other to get the best possible shot. It was a little rainy on our day and they actually took video/photos of us inside a puddle reflection--I mean who thinks of that?! We were running a little late to the reception when our portraits were supposed to be taken and John knew we didn't want to miss too much of cocktail hour. We were able to get the most beautiful shots in just 30 minutes, including drone, which was super important to us. The Avec L'Amour team got absolutely stunning video without us feeling like we had cameras in our faces all night. We booked John for the 8-hour package, but realized we were not going to be able to get the bouquet toss or cake cutting in that time frame. NO worries!! John offered to stay an extra hour to capture the remainder of the evening. Now for the deliverables: we got our first teaser video back within 3 weeks of our day and I was absolutely blown away. We received the full gallery which included a 1 minute teaser, 3 minute trailer, and the full 1.5 hour long event not even a MONTH after our wedding day. It was just like watching a move of all our favorite people and he captured the day so perfectly. I cannot say enough: RUN, don't walk to book John and Avec L'Amour for your special day!!
