I love weddings! I love how one single event can be done is so many unique ways to fit each couple and their story. My favorite things to capture during the day are the little details you incorporate to make the day truly yours. My approach is to capture emotion and as much candid interaction and love as possible on your big day while incorporating romantic and fun poses in between.

Planning my own wedding in 2021 gave me an even deeper appreciation for the importance of receiving creative expertise and genuine support from wedding vendors.

I love hiking with my husband, martial arts, playing music and singing, I'm crazy about animals, I'm absolutely fascinated by linguistics and other cultures. Also, & to my hubby, I'm rather nerdy (you'll see me rolling around in my limited edition Iron Man Hyundai, haha), so if you're into Star Wars, superheroes, etc., I'm sure we will get along just fine ;). Helianthus and Lace is a wedding and event floral design business serving the deeply in love. Helianthus is the Latin term for sunflower and comes from the root Helio and Greek Helios, meaning Sun. I grew up running around after my mom in her gardens and spent most of high school in the art department. I went off to design school and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design. Soon after, I started my first “real” design job and have been working in the industry in either commercial or residential design ever since, giving me thirty-five years of design experience. A second related career in Floral Design was added to my skill set when I was employed as a part-time floral designer and trained at Longwood Gardens. I decorated twenty-one Christmas trees that year and did a lot of beautiful custom designs.

Preparing and serving slow smoked, expertly prepared Texas barbecue and rustic Italian inspired dishes is the greatest joy in my life. There are no short cuts in barbecue and that's what I love about it. We started Luongo Barbecue to glorify the Lord and grow the Kingdom of God. We use the business as a means to feed and serve our community. After spending 30 years in Texas we have relocated to central Pennsylvania to begin working with family on the next chapter of Luongo Barbecue.
