Outdoor ceremony area, gorgeous clear-top tent, indoor cocktail area, and more! Built between 1908 and 1912, Fonthill was the home of Henry Chapman Mercer. Archaeologist, anthropologist, ceramist, scholar and antiquarian, Mercer built Fonthill both as his home and as a showplace for his collection of tiles and prints. The first of three Mercer buildings in Doylestown, Fonthill served as a showplace for Mercer’s famed Moravian tiles. Designed by Mercer, the building is an eclectic mix of Medieval, Gothic, and Byzantine architectural styles. Your guests will be amazed when they enter the tree-lined grounds and visit this amazing castle.

Our historic Doylestown property is the perfect backdrop to assure your next event goes down in the history books! The beautiful Elkins Gallery, can be booked for intimate gatherings or large groups up to 150 people. A vintage baby grand piano and two fireplaces with mantels flank the intimate space. An adjoining Garden Patio Tent can be included in your rental, offering a beautiful outdoor garden space for a reception, cocktail party, shower, birthday party… or more! We are a historic 1920s Italian Revival mansion with breathtaking riverfront views in a convenient urban location. During your wedding you will have access to the entire mansion, including our Conservatory Ballroom, for your reception. Below is some additional information about weddings at King Mansion. - The Conservatory Ballroom can accommodate 160 guests with a dance floor. For guest counts over 160 we have additional options including a foyer dance floor or a tented reception on our front lawn. - Catering services are not included in our rental fee. We require you to select a caterer from our list of (5) options with varying price ranges to fit your needs & budget. - You are permitted to purchase & provide your alcohol as long as it's served by a licensed and insured bartender. We are currently offering $1,000 off any full wedding package for the remaining dates in January - August 2025.
