I have worked numerous weddings at the mansion. Such a beautiful venue and friendly staff. As a hairstylist they give us the dining room to setup in and do services in. Pretty big room with doors that can be shut on all sides for privacy as well which is a plus!

Hailee, who manages the venue, was a true powerhouse - she had a smile on her face the entire night and it was clear she loves what she does. The staff was equally as great, ensuring the whole planning process was a breeze and our special day could not have been more perfect. The quality of their work and value was stunning - the venue was beautifully managed, the food was incredible, and they had amazing in-house vendors that provided great service. We had my son's rehearsal dinner/welcome party at Alimentari Beach in November of 2024. The food was delicious and the service was incredible. We had dinner for the rehearsal party and then opened up to the rest of the wedding guests for food and drinks. I have nothing but good things to say. We looked at a number of potential sites to hold the NASG annual convention in 2025. The Holiday Inn, Norwich was perfect, very nice rooms, a good amount of function space and excellent staff that did everything possible to insure that our event was fantastic!

We recently had our wedding at Water’s Edge Resort and Spa, and overall, it was a beautiful and memorable day. The setting is absolutely stunning, with a gorgeous waterfront backdrop that sets the tone for a romantic, coastal celebration. The Venue: The venue itself is the real star. The ceremony space overlooking the water is breathtaking, and our guests were wowed. The Royal Ballroom was elegant and clean, though it felt a bit tight for our 200-person guest count and had a small dance floor. The staff did a great job setting up. One of the biggest positives was their effort to keep our ceremony outside despite some tricky weather. Plan B changed multiple times throughout the day, but they were flexible and made a call two hours before—allowing us to have a lovely outdoor ceremony on the patio. The Coordination Team: This is where things fell short. The onsite wedding coordinators did their jobs but offered little more. They operate within a narrow set of rules, and most non-standard requests were met with a “no.” If you want anything custom, you’ll need to go to the head of sales. We strongly recommend hiring an independent wedding planner. The coordinators are not substitutes for a full-service planner and do not assist with day-of timelines. Don’t expect personalized guidance—you’ll need to advocate for yourself throughout. Tasting & Food: The tasting experience was one of the low points. The food was poorly executed, and it left us anxious. That said, the kitchen completely redeemed itself on the big day. The wedding food was delicious, well-presented, and received many compliments from our guests. We’re grateful they delivered when it mattered most. Pricing & Contracts: Expect extra charges for nearly everything. Review your contract closely—Water’s Edge adheres strictly to what’s written, even when verbal communication during planning differs. This added stress and confusion. Their team is extremely contract-focused, so nothing should be assumed unless it’s clearly in writing. Hotel & Room Block: The hotel is beautiful but expensive. Managing the room block was more difficult than anticipated, and we were quoted one rate, but our final contract reflected another. This required a lot of back-and-forth to sort out and added unnecessary friction to the planning process. Final Thoughts: Despite the challenges, we had a truly wonderful wedding day. The venue was stunning, our guests had an amazing time, and everything ran smoothly thanks to their structured operation. Water’s Edge is definitely a “wedding factory”—they’re efficient, but not especially flexible or tailored. If you go in with clear expectations, a strong outside planner, and a willingness to advocate for what you want, you can absolutely have the wedding of your dreams here. We’re grateful for the memories and happy with how everything turned out in the end.

I honestly forget if I already wrote a review for The Lace Factory, but recently I was reflecting on our wedding day and a few things stuck out that had me so thankful we held our reception at The Lace Factory. From the beginning of the planning process the team is extremely clear and communicative. I love a checklist and theirs is one that ensures nothing will be forgotten. Our guests are still sharing how gorgeous the venue was, how incredible the food spread was, and one detail I was surprised by, from my cousin who has been to their fair share of large celebrations. "The food was not only delicious, but they managed to serve such a large group and the food was actually hot!" This speaks to the well-oiled machine that is The Lace Factory and it must be emphasized that this machine has heart. They accomplished another feat of having my family and I not worry about the severe allergy of my dad, as they adjusted the menu accordingly, without us having to miss out on all the options. This carried over to assist some guests who also had specific dietary needs. I realize this sounds boring, but it is wonderful to know your guests are safe and fed and focus on the celebrating! The Lace Factory is a venue that can transform your wedding into something beyond your dreams while holding true to your vision.

We trusted her completely with our vision and she knocked it out of the park. For me, I was in awe of her attention to the little things… the plate of hors douerves delivered to the bridal suite for us right after the ceremony, the signature drinks in our toasting flutes during dinner, the floating candles she suggested for the sweetheart table, right down to Emily locating our missing marriage license moments before the ceremony! She did it all with grace and ease. I could trust Emily and her team to set up all of the decor without an ounce of worry and on top of the beautiful set-up, Emily and her team packed up everything (and I mean everything!) into my car that night which truly was an unbelievable service. Chris, the General Manager, was our officiant and he was incredible. We had only met Chris a handful of times before we got married, but we felt as if he was one of our good friends. He knew exactly what we were looking for and we couldn’t have asked for a better ceremony. And the food! Everything was out of this world. Multiple guests claimed the short rib was the best they ever had. Chef Rob’s seared tuna steaks were prepared to perfection, even impressing a room full of tuna fisherman, which is certainly not an easy feat! The Galilee Beach Club was a warm, welcoming, highly professional, full service, simply spectacular place to get married. Our wedding surpassed our wildest dreams, which was undoubtedly the result of the hard work and long hours put in by Emily, Chris, Rob and the rest of the event staff at GBC. As two native Rhode Islanders and Galilee locals, we could not have had a more perfect setting for one of the most memorable days of our lives. We are forever grateful to have worked with such a remarkable team.

If you are considering Jedediah Hawkins for your wedding, here are the 5 things I’d most like to share about our experience there. 1. Nothing went wrong. As soon as we were greeted by Ilias, who manages the entire operation, we knew he will not allow anything to go wrong. At that point my stress dissolved, and I began to really enjoy the happiest day of my life. 2. The food: appetizers, entrees and desserts, was consistently excellent and abundant. 3. The venue is gorgeous, rain or shine. The staff deal with weather issues instantly if things change. I have personal, happy experience with this. 4. The staff is friendly, professional and trained to please the guests as well as the wedding party. 5. In addition to sending thank you notes, I receive them from family and friends who had the time of their lives. We had the luxury of an outstanding wedding planner, a wonderful string quartet, and a gorgeous wedding cake. Yet had we not been able to afford those luxuries, our day at Hawkins would have been the grandest day of our lives. That is due to the people who manage and staff this lovely venue. On the day of our wedding the weather wasn’t optimal, but rain wasn’t a sure thing. Ilias patiently waited while we watched the JHI staff, musicians and florist setup our outdoor garden wedding. About half an hour before the scheduled start, Ilias determined that we were moving indoors. Then, it started to pour. Nobody batted an eyelash. The Hawkins team converted the beautiful reception “Barn” into a lovely wedding chapel. Ilias and a small army of servers with umbrellas led us through the wisteria covered pathway to the Barn. After the ceremony, we enjoyed the cocktail hour in the historic restaurant/inn while the staff restored the Barn for dinner and dancing. When we went for a tasting to select the food that would be served, the chef prepared full entrees and appetizers so we would know exactly what would be served, how it would taste and how it would be presented. We were served each of the available first course appetizers that our guests would choose from. On our wedding day, my husband and I had all these things served at our table. The cocktail hour includes both hot appetizers served by staff constantly moving through your crowd of guests and a wonderful Tuscan cold appetizer table. When I spent a selfish amount of time listening to the string quartet we brought in, my bridal attendant Kelly (provided by JHI to shadow me in case I needed anything) noticed it and appeared with a platter of hot appetizers just for my new husband and me. Kelly also perfectly arranged my fresh flowers on our wedding cake, coordinated the presentation of a birthday cake we brought for our flower girl’s fifth birthday and made sure that our guests had boxes to take home desserts from the huge dessert table of cookies and pastries. Kelly was a great example of the Hawkins staff knowing how to pre-empt any chance of something going wrong. She was always with me to connect a need with a service. We had the luxury of staying at the Inn during our wedding weekend. - You must see the rooms if you are thinking of staying!! Eugenia was our house mother, housekeeper, breakfast coordinator and all around resource. She kept us comfortable and ready to enjoy our stay. The many Hawkins staff devoted to our wedding did small and incredibly large things to make everyone comfortable, satisfied and happy. ALL of our guests raved about them. Yours will too.

Saint Clements Castle provided a beautiful venue and kind staff for our wedding day. We especially appreciated our sales coordinator, Alyssa, who was professional, fast, and clear in her communication throughout the planning process. When rain forced us to move the ceremony indoors, the team quickly adapted the art gallery for us. The servers and bridal attendants were also attentive and went above and beyond to help finish set up when our florist left early. Our guests had incredibly kind things to say about the servers, and overall we had a great experience. It was also lovely to have a place that was a one stop shop for event planning! We did lose some decor in the shuffle which was an inconvenience, and some of the instructions for set up I left were not followed (our confetti got lost, only four guests got packets, the bridal suites did not have the supplies we left for them). My husband’s family were also really upset with one of the managers on property who wouldn’t allow them to walk in a covered area and was a bit rude about it, despite an event not happening and the rain being a torrential downpour causing unsafe conditions for his elderly family to walk in. Overall we had a great experience, and would recommend the castle to anyone planning a wedding!
