The mission of the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts is to create an environment where all forms of artistic expression are appreciated, encouraged, and seen as a contribution to the quality of life in our community. Built-in 1921 as a home for the American Passion Play, the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts (BCPA), then known as Bloomington's Scottish Rite Temple, boasted an elegant lobby fronted by a graceful five-arched façade, a ballroom that could seat 1,000 diners and a 1,320-seat theatre that featured the largest stage west of New York. In 2000, The City of Bloomington formed the Bloomington Cultural District to assume ownership of the Consistory and surrounding properties to shepherd it through a restoration.

Beautiful, simple, intimate, and filled with light, the Evelyn Chapel is available year round for wedding ceremonies for alumni as well as the general public. Originally designed by notable Bloomington-Normal architect George Miller and originally the home of the Odd Fellows organization, One Twenty Six has been lovingly restored and updated to create a modern event space that will leave your guests in awe. The venue has sleeping accommodations for up to 10 guests, which makes it an ideal location for those looking for more than just a reception hall or banquet center. The venue features a full kitchen, seating area, 2 full bathrooms, 2 bedrooms, 2 pull out couches, the ballroom, and lounge/billiard room where there's plenty of room for mingling with your guests after dinner! There's also a bar area where you can enjoy drinks before or after dinner if desired!

An area once reserved solely for the practical application of aging beers, and on occasion for private beer dinners, we opened up this space for guests to host private events such as ceremonies, receptions, showers & rehearsal dinners. Located within DESTIHL Brewery, the Barrel Room is where you’ll find something unique. Allerton offers an extraordinary setting unlike any other. Beautiful Formal Gardens, pristine Natural Areas, a two-story hay barn, and a historic Mansion make Allerton the perfect place for your dream wedding. The historic Allerton Mansion features exquisite wood floors, marble fireplaces, elegant furnishings, and breathtaking views of the surrounding Meadow, reflecting pond, and woodlands. Each of our Formal Gardens creates a unique, magical space for a wedding ceremony. The Gardens feature extensive plantings and over 100 ornaments and sculptures. Set amid the beauty of an idyllic nine-acre farmstead, this converted two-story Dutch hay barn, with its exposed timbers and 30-foot ceiling, offers a rustic and charming atmosphere unlike others found in Central Illinois. The Music Barn seats up to 200 guests for wedding ceremonies. Because the Barn is not temperature controlled, it is only available to rent between April and October.
