During the 18th century, it served as a tavern on the Conestoga wagon trade. In the mid-19th century it became an inn and hosted numerous travelers. Purchased by James Hale & Louise McClure Steinman in 1927, it was fully renovated and restored in 1930 by architect Frank J. Everts. Among the venue’s many visitors was the great-nephew of Edgar Allan Poe. Historic Waverly Mansion is located in Marriottsville, Maryland. This 1760's era estate is a the perfect setting of an intimate garden wedding and reception! The Mansion and property is owned and operated by Howard County Government's Recreation and Parks Department and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Historic Waverly Mansion is considered an outdoor venue. The property includes beautifully maintained gardens, the historic Mansion, and rustic barn. During our peak rental season, a 60x40ft event tent is included in wedding rentals. Historic Waverly provides the location and property amenities while the Permit Holder provides all vendors, including an approved full-service Caterer and Wedding Coordinator. Historic Waverly Mansion is a Howard County Park. Howard County Recreation and Park guidelines apply to all scheduled events and are different from privately owned venues. With over fifty combined years of hospitality experience between them, Christine and Joe know how to throw a party! From celebratory rehearsal dinners to surprise birthday shenanigans to small, intimate commemorations, Cracked Pepper has helped many a Lancastrian plan the perfect menu to please their guests. Now, the duo at Cracked Pepper Catering are excited to finally announce the opening of their newest venture in dining and service! Open to the public, with easy and nearby parking on site, PepperTheo Cafe is located on the Lancaster Theological Seminary grounds in a devastatingly unique space known as the refectory.

Greenbank is a beautiful setting for your DIY event, with historic charm and a natural outdoor setting by the Red Clay Creek. You’ll want to plan hours before and after your event for setup/decorating and cleanup. You can choose to rent in smaller blocks of time using our Standard Package or take advantage of our Wedding Package: it provides access to the site across two days to allow for stress-free setup, deliveries, rehearsals, photographs, and event preparations, plus cleaning services and other special accommodations.

Our stately ole girl was born in 1927, during the Rockefeller’s reconstruction of Williamsburg, Virginia’s Historic area, she sits literally on the front steps of our American History. Her guests enjoy a glimpse of an earlier time when hospitality was a matter of pride and fine living was an art practiced in restful surroundings. Featuring six well-appointed guest rooms, three parlors, a kitchen pantry, and over-planted gardens with cozy outdoor spaces, her lodging serves as a welcome respite to our weary tourist travelers, a cozy laid-back experience for those simply looking to get away from it all, and acts as a home away from home for our families and their celebrations.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the oldest investment bank in America (built in 1901) located in the heart of Baltimore’s historic Financial District, was restored and converted to an upscale venue. The restoration included the building’s original marble, oversized windows, a historically-accurate bar and a Tiffany dome.
