If you haven't already discovered, my name is Stacy Frick. (all of my friends affectionately call me "Frick") This whole cookie-thing started out of boredom. Wondering what I could do that excites my creative mind without being mundane and repetitive. I began my career as a Pastry chef with my degree in baking and pastry arts from the Culinary Institute of America in 2006. I moved to Las Vegas to prove to parents “baking wasn’t just a hobby” I worked my way up the culinary ladder working for Thomas Keller, Jean Georges, Joel Robuchon & Tom Coliccho, including catering to celebrities and high need clientele 24-7. After I had my son, my life took a change and I found myself to be a single mother looking for a better life. I met my husband and he has encouraged me to take my passion for cakes to another level. CAKElyfe by Nattie J was born and now I’m a stay at home mom/custom cake artist.

I cooked my first meal at 7 and my first brownies at 10. I romanticized the process. I loved picking the ingredients in my mother’s garden and also the open air markets back home. I loved preparing everything in cute neat bowls and learning from everyone who would teach me. I loved how the aroma filled the house. I loved setting the table and the conversations shared as we all enjoyed our meals. I have always had a loving relationship with food.
