“Intimacy is hard to achieve in a venue and nowadays with the crushing oppression of minimalism, even more difficult to find. What I love about Lou Lou is that it has all of the necessary staples of a well run restaurant but none of the chaos. The decor is warm and welcoming, the tables are a pleasant lighter wood that invokes a bright memory of sitting in the kitchen of the cool aunt. Textured pieces of art and pottery grace the walls and delicate white curtains frame the front windows to give the diners privacy. I love that I can see the chefs working diligently behind the counter and that the flow of the space draws your eye down the line and to the cute little stage in the back. This could be used for a jazz trio, a sweetheart table or an emotional speech at a rehearsal dinner. Regardless, the space is unique and I am certain, will become as precious to the community as it is to me and my family.”

“We wanted our wedding to feel fun, relaxed, and centered around amazing food—and BiXi Beer was the perfect fit. The upstairs atrium gave us a beautiful indoor/outdoor space for our ceremony and the cocktail-style dinner we had for our 98 guests made it feel like a laid-back party with delicious food and amazing drinks at every turn. Our guests loved the food—many went back for seconds, thirds, even fourths—and we’ve heard nothing but rave reviews since. The cocktails were fantastic (special shoutout to the last-minute espresso martinis!) and the house beer, of course, was a hit. We also loved that they offered late-night bite options. We also love that BiXi is a real restaurant—so that we and our guests can go back and relive the flavors anytime. And the location in Logan Square made it easy to keep the celebration going afterward at nearby spots like The Owl and Federales. Big thanks to Jordan, the event coordinator, who made the whole planning process so easy and enjoyable. BiXi truly helped us create a night we’ll never forget and we would recommend them to anyone looking for a wedding venue!”

BiXi Beer presents an ideal venue for your special day, offering delicious food from our James Beard nominated head chef, Bo Fowler. As well as a space that requires minimal additional decor. Choosing us for your wedding allows you and your guests to enjoy either a cocktail party for up to 120 people or a seated dining experience for up to 80 people. Our base rental includes four hours of private access to the entire second floor—The Atrium, Green Room, Lounge, and Terrace (weather permitting). You'll also receive dedicated staff, tables, chairs, and service ware. Additionally, you and your vendors will have access to the space two hours before the event for setup and one hour after for breakdown. “Review: If you are looking for a one-of-a-kind beautiful historic venue for an unique and special event in Chicago, the search is over. Book Stan Mansion now!!! We could not imagine or have chosen a better venue for our wedding. We live out of state but wanted to get married in Chicago for several reasons - after a trip we took just to look at several venues we had identified online it was such an easy choice for us to go with Stan Mansion. Cera Stan, the visionary owner, met with us and our families and told us all about her incredible story with the historic building - built in 1920s as a Masonic Lodge. The space is absolutely gorgeous and speaks for itself but we particularly loved how we were able to do everything onsite - getting ready, photos, ceremony, cocktail hour, reception - everything has a home at Stan Mansion and a beautiful, well-appointed one at that. We were impressed with their thoughtful and competitive pricing and the care and attention we were shown before we ever signed a contract - even sharing a list of favored vendors which was a guiding hand for us throughout our planning process. Cera gave us valuable advice at that first meeting about planning a wedding that rang in our ears throughout the entire year leading up to our big day. The other major appeal for us with SM was our incredible Wedding Coordinator, Aleya. We knew we wanted help with our planning process, but to have that be someone who works full time for the venue was invaluable. Aleya worked long distance with us for months via zoom, phone, and in-person meetings planned around our other travel to Chicago to assist in whatever way she could to help keep us on track. I plan events regularly as a part of my job and was excited to do the bulk of the planning of our wedding with my family, but Aleya’s knowledge of the venue and area, her strong relationship with vendors, her creative eye, passion for events, calming aura, and genuine love for her job shine through in everything she does. She is a gem and a huge part of why the venue is so phenomonal, but everyone we met who works there - Miguel, Monica, Cera’s husband Drago - warm, wonderful, lovely humans. At The Stan Mansion we were able to plan a bespoke, creative, seamless and well-run event that didn’t feel cookie-cutter or like any wedding we had been to before. Our guests were a mix of local Chicagoans and out-of-towners and they all raved about the venue - its beauty, its history, and just how special it felt. You can’t invent that about a space, it is inherent to the love poured into it and the care surrounding it. We will forever be so grateful to have found this special home in Logan Square! “I worked with LNF for over a year to plan my dream wedding. We knew we wanted to go a little unconventional from the standard type of venue and let me say it PAID OFF. From the planning perspective: I want to give all my kudos to Brianna from the events team for everything she did! She was in constant communication with me about everything from food selections to reception layout and was so kind throughout the entire process. She helped me feel empowered with the decisions we were making and helped with monthly touch bases to go over details to weekly once we got close to the wedding. She made sure I had everything I needed and helped make our vision come to life! From the venue/event perspective: Our guests are still raving about this wedding two weeks out. The family style entrees gave everyone more than enough food that was delicious and the bar staff was getting into the party with us as much as we were! Everyone was attended to in a timely manner and the entire staff played a huge role in making the night so welcoming and engaging. The layout worked perfectly for our group, too. The garden transformed into our dance floor that easily fit all of our guests together and the rooftop served as such a unique and beautiful setting for our ceremony. I truthfully don’t have enough positive things to say about the staff and the venue. Not to mention that the pricing for our event was all inclusive (bar, food, venue, DJ, decor, etc.) which made it super easy to keep track of everything and was also WAY more affordable than other venues within the area. The Royal Palms Shuffleboard Club Chicago

“Royal Palms has always held a special place in our hearts. At the beginning of our relationship, I joined a league with my now-husband’s best friends. Shuffleboard (and Shuffleboard Bobs) brought us together, and they welcomed me into the group. We were league regulars and made some great memories, even though we rarely won a game. When we got engaged, we knew we wanted an untraditional wedding experience and were so excited that Royal Palms was willing to host us - their first wedding! Their events coordinator, Taylor, was just as enthusiastic and worked closely with us to plan an incredible event. We walked down a shuffleboard aisle on the roof while the Blue Line passed behind us, making for some incredible photos. Captain Scott gave our guests tutorials while they ate Big Star tacos from a truck and drank amazing cocktails. The energy was incredible, and it meant the world to us to see our families and friends connecting over rounds of shuffleboard. Hosting was easy - the space is already so beautiful that we did not bring in any decorations! No flowers or linens needed. Catering from a food truck was fun and unique. The photo station was fully stocked with props. The AV equipment was ready for a DJ and we kept our custom playlist bumping all night. The bartenders kept energy high and drinks flowing all night (truly the best bar in the city, in my opinion!). We danced and ate and played for hours. Our guests still talk about this night to this day. It was a party to remember, which is exactly what we wanted. Even better than the wonderful memories, pictures, and stories is the fact that we can go back whenever we want to relive the night. Even after two kids, we still make a point of playing a round of shuffleboard every year on our anniversary - it will be 6 years this fall! We cannot thank the Royal Palms staff enough for working with us. They are high-energy and fun, and they are also professional and take their clients’ experience very seriously. You would never know ours was their first wedding - they had every single detail covered, resulting in a seamless night. I look back on that night with nothing but happy memories. I wouldn’t change a single thing!”

“We had Ravi do the catering for my daughter's wedding, which was at The Old Post Office in 2022. The tasting we had was fantastic, as a result we ended up offering more varieties of appetizers than originally planned, they were all amazing! The dinner options we chose were over the top! In addition my daughter wanted a dessert that wasn't on Ravi's menu, but he made it happen for her. Fast forward to 2024, my daughter is expecting and I was beginning to plan a baby shower for her. I called Ravi and found out he had become the caterer of choice for The Oak Brook Manor. Ravi bent over backwards to give my daughter the perfect baby shower. The facility is beautiful, and of course the food outstanding! We had 40 people, some of the choices of food we had were the siracha chicken, which everyone loved & my favorite!!! Swedish meatballs, not one was left over. Pulled pork, amazing. Mac & cheese, loved it! Vegetarian pasta salad, a big hit. Our guests went back for 2nds & 3rds and everyone loved it. I would, without a doubt, recommend Ravi. His food choices and quality go above and beyond. The venue itself is perfect. I would use Ravi in a heartbeat and know that he would be providing the best ingredients, service, location, and on-hand help/experience!!!”

CommunityHealth, a volunteer-based free health center just down the street, hosted our first in-person volunteer appreciation event since COVID(!) with Villanelle and couldn't have been happier with the experience - from initial planning to day-of to swift wrap-up. Though not a wedding, we benefited from all of the things Villanelle does wonderfully - prompt and warm communication, flexible pricing options to meet our budget, flexibility with the space, setup, music, timing of catering to make sure all fit with our plans, super tasty food and beverage options, etc etc etc. The space is beautiful and has enough personality to stand on its own and also allow for customization as desired, the photo booth (RIP Berlin) was a great add-on, and the whole team was lovely to work with. We're so glad to have Villanelle in the neighborhood creating inviting queer spaces for celebration. 3”

The space is stunning, the architecture and historic charm speak for themselves and hardly need additional décor to feel wedding ready. We had the pleasure of working with Ellen from our first tour to the day-of (and even after!) and she was incredible every step of the way. Ellen was extremely attentive, she answered every question and handled every request with such grace and care. I always felt supported, and she truly went above and beyond—coordinating seamlessly with our planner, florist, and other vendors to ensure our day was nothing short of perfect. It meant so much to feel like someone genuinely cared about our day through it all. We also used Café Brauer’s in-house caterer, Tigerlily, and the compliments haven’t stopped rolling in. Guests are still reaching out to us—as well as our parents—saying it was the most beautiful wedding they’ve attended and hands-down the best wedding food they’ve ever had. I couldn’t recommend Café Brauer and Ellen more. It was everything we dreamed of and more!!”

“Hangout Lighting was a fantastic choice for our wedding reception venue. Jen's communication throughout the planning process was extremely prompt and helpful. I was looking for a space that was already partially decorated and set up, one that had some indoor and outdoor space, as well as one that allowed us to bring in any vendors of our choosing. Hangout Lighting delivered on all these points. We loved the lighting (of course!) and that the beautiful farmhouse tables and chairs were already perfectly in place. Jen offered a lot of flexibility in the timing of the day as well, so we could choose the number of hours that fit our event. I wish we could have celebrated past the 10pm last call and, looking back, might have started our event earlier in the evening to have more time. But all of the rules and guidance were extremely well communicated ahead of time, so we knew what we were getting into. The free street parking was plentiful, and the location worked great for us. Very glad we were able to celebrate our wedding at Hangout Lighting during the first year that they were hosting events in the space, as I think we got a great deal as well, having compared prices with some similar places in the area. “I would like to highly recommend the Abbington Distinctive Banquets. We held both our ceremony and reception at this venue and was very pleased! We selected this venue based on its elegance (I absolutely loved the north ball room which features oversized windows allowing beautiful natural lighting, oversized chandeliers, and neutral color tones blending that blended well with our color palette. We also loved the fact that they have an option to host the ceremony in a separate room from the reception which was an absolute must for me, I am very particular and a little hard to deal with at times due to my over attention to detail and wanting every single detail preplanned and perfectly executed. Tara my venue coordinator was very accommodating to my "type A" personality :) She was very patient with me no matter how many times I contacted her, or regardless of how many times I stopped by the venue to run through things or do mock set ups, and was always just a email/ phone call away throughout the entire planning process. Leading up to the wedding one thing that I had not thought about prior to booking this venue is that we wanted a traditional soul food cuisine and the venue does not offer outside catering. Tara went above and beyond to meet my needs by helping us put together a custom menu using items from their various banquet menus. She also allowed us to request extra seasonings and provide details on how to turn their traditional menu Mac and cheese to "southern style baked Mac and cheese to give the food the southern flare we desired. The chef did an amazing job of executing it and the food was delicious and an absolute hit! My family (including the great aunties and grandparents) whom are tuff food critics were very pleased! We had absolutely NO complaints with anything related to the venue on our big day and would like to thank the staff at the Abbington Distinctive Banquets for being top tier! Everything was perfect!!!”

The romantic vibes that we got in this space at golden hour just elevated our wedding that much more, and the exposed brick really made this a unique venue for our city wedding. The Carter Chicago

“I couldn't be happier with our decision to book The Carter as our wedding venue! The staff made the night go flawlessly. My wedding coordinator even commented how impressed she was with how quick their staff was able to move throughout setup during the day. She also complimented the catering coordinator as being a complete pro. With The Carter you are required to use their caterer, D'Absolute, but that was not a problem for us because the food was phenomenal. Wedding food can be hit or miss, but we had multiple guests raving about everything from the apps to the late night snacks. Chris allowed us to include 2 signature drinks and customized our bar menu to whatever we wanted. Since I got married on my birthday Chris even upgraded our glassware free of charge which was such a sweet, unexpected gesture! They are very flexible with how you want to use the space, which I loved because we were able to make the event truly unique. What sold me on the space is that you don't need to add much additional decor because it's so beautiful on its own. The connecting courtyard comes with string lights. The interior space includes multiple chandeliers and string lights over the dance floor. Most other places you'd need to bring those details in, and pay for them. What I also love about the space is you get the "lofty, urban" feel without all of the pillars/poles in a typical loft space. You get high ceilings and an open floor plan, which makes the space look so much nicer (in my opinion). The cost is a little pricier than other venues we explored, however I 100% think we paid for higher quality and I have zero regrets.”
