I have followed Heather since she started and it has been so amazing watching her grow! Her and her team work so well to make your day special and made my visions come to life. I’m so happy she was able to capture so many memories of those closest to me. These photos will hang on my wall and be passed down for generations. I included just a few because they are truly something special!

If adventure makes your heart beat fast, you don't mind straying from tradition, sarcasm and retro music are your love languages, and if you're down to frolic through an open field with me, we'll be best friends in no time. When you choose your wedding photographer, it's about so much more than just hiring a professional to take your photos - it's about connecting with someone who'll capture your special day with intention. So be sure to ask all your questions, and make sure you *click* (pun intended) with the person behind the camera!

Faith is one of the most intentional people I’ve met — she was there every step of the way during wedding planning to support us and provided so much comfort and overall good vibes on the day of! I felt so at ease the entire wedding day, and I credit that to our incredible vendor team, Faith and her team included. I received so many sneak peek pics just under a week after my wedding (a few I got almost immediately!!), and it was amazing to be able to relive those moments already and share them with friends and family. Seeing how she captured these moments, big and small, makes me SO excited to see the final gallery!!! Her editing style is simply gorgeous — it was the main reason I reached out to her initially — but she’s also just a wonderful friend and human. When you already feel like you know someone, it makes it so much easier to be your authentic selves in front of the camera, and for that to shine through in photos. We both have so much love for Faith and are forever grateful she was there to document the beginning of the newest chapter of our love story

My name is Rabeeh and I'm new to ZOLA (you can see over 250 reviews on my Knot profile). When I first started taking pictures, I can honestly say that I didn't plan on becoming a wedding photographer. Most other photographers I socialized with would tell me how stressful and demanding wedding photography could be. Over a decade and numerous weddings later, I must strongly disagree! I want you to relax, breathe deeply, and experience every moment of your wedding with as little worry or concern as possible. A little about myself, I am an easy going guy who enjoys numerous hobbies ranging from collecting antique cameras to the art of bonsai.

To say I highly recommend Blue Dahlia Photography is an understatement. Originally we got our engagement photos taken with Rabeeh and I initially thought it would be super awkward walking around town getting our picture taken but he made us feel so comfortable. The photos turned out amazing! He answered any questions we had. And he got our pictures back to us quickly. Then when our wedding rolled around we took a chance and asked if he’d be willing to travel to New Orleans to be our wedding photographer as well. He said yes and we were beyond thrilled! He was a huge reason why our wedding ran as smoothly as it did. He walked us through the our whole day and made us feel at ease. In short, he was amazing and you should hire him!

I'm Abbey a Northern Kentucky-based photographer who loves making a safe and comfortable space for everyone while we work together. Capturing those beautiful candid moments are some of my favorite shots. I can't wait to capture your special day so you can forever relive those magical moments.

Of all the good decisions my wife and I made during our wedding planning, of which there were surprisingly many, hiring Abbey and Wes with Laurel Roots Photography was the best one. Warning: Long, gushing review ahead. I am naturally suspicious of photographers owing to a lot of bad experiences. Being a guy probably adds to that; I don't think dudes are generally as comfortable being photographed as non-dudes. A lot of photographers I've experienced in the past have been super serious, love to make me do silly poses, and/or just don't do enough good work to be worth the cost, in my opinion. Photographers generally make me uncomfortable. Abbey and Wes could not have been more perfect for our wedding if they had meant to be. From the get-go, they were super communicative and easy to work with. We did our engagement photos super late in the game due to immigration constraints, and Abbey didn't stress about that at all. We scheduled with her easily, and when we had to reschedule and re-reschedule, she didn't mind at all. Both photo days were very easy and laid back. Abbey and Wes are very chill and open people. They're good at their jobs without being serious about it. They made the photoshoots fun, and for me that's a superpower. There were no goofy poses (except the ones we decided to do because we were comfortable around Abbey and Wes). I was very happy with our engagement photos and was actually looking forward to the wedding shoot. I do not exaggerate when I say that Abbey and Wes ran our wedding day for us. They gave us a timeline and made sure we got everything done on time. This is not an extra service we paid for, they just know their stuff and do their jobs well. I didn't really even appreciate it all until after the wedding when I realized they basically served as wedding coordinators for us without us asking them to. They took a ton of stress off of us and we didn't even know they were doing it. That's not all the extra work they did. Most people will just do the job you give them and take your check. I mean, that's what doing the job is. Not Abbey and Wes. The day of our wedding, they took time out of the day of their own initiative to drive around the city and find the perfect spot for photos. Again, this was not expected or requested, they just did it because they're awesome. I guess I just expected to take photos at the venue, but they got all the wedding party and family wrangled together and took us to a great spot in Covington I'd never seen. And the photos turned out fantastic. I know I'm biased, but they're seriously some of the best wedding photos I've ever seen, and we paid half of what my sisters paid for theirs. You know your photographers are good when your guests are talking about them during the reception. I seriously cannot recommend Abbey and Wes enough. I will use them for any and all photoshoots I ever need until the end of time. My wedding day was an amazing experience, and I owe a lot of that to Abbey and Wes. They went far above and beyond what we expected, and the memories we have from the wedding will last of a lifetime. Those memories wouldn't shine nearly so bright without such great photographers.
