The Prospect Park Boathouse was our absolute dream venue and the perfect setting for our big day! We had been torn between having a wedding more in nature or more in the city, and the Boathouse was the perfect blend between the two. Although the food wasn't our top priority, it ended up being a highlight of the day (especially the bacon wrapped dates). Throughout planning, Elena was very communicative and quick to respond to any email or question we had. Many of our guests commented on how elegant and classic New York the Boathouse was as a venue, and that's exactly what made us fall in love with it in the first place. We're also very excited that they recently opened a cafe out of the Boathouse during the day as well so that we can go back and relive our special day over and over again. A big thank you to Elena and the rest of the Purslane team for making our special day absolutely perfect!

We had the best night of our lives at Peasant celebrating our wedding. We chose this restaurant because we always loved the food and romantic cozy atmosphere. When we had to quickly pivot our wedding plans to a smaller venue (4 weeks from our date!), they were our first call. The team at Peasant sprang into action and delivered the wedding we always dreamed of. We had our ceremony in front of the beautiful brick oven. We barely decorated the space because it's already so gorgeous. Our 70 guests sat at long tables for an incredible family style meal. The space quickly transformed into a dance floor, and a friend of ours DJ'd our favorite music. If you're looking for an intimate venue where you can relax and soak up the pure joy of your wedding day, Peasant has the vibes. Our guests still rave about the rigatoni alla vodka, the espresso martinis, and the kindness of the team months later. We keep going back for dates because we can't possibly get enough, and Peasant will always hold a special place in our hearts.

We had our wedding at BHS (100 guests, cocktail hour in the staircase lobby, ceremony in the library and reception at great hall) in June 2019. We did not need much decorations other than flowers because the landmarked interior spaces with woods and tiles already made the space look so majestic. Every guest we spoke to mentioned how beautiful the building was, inside and out. Randi, the venue manager at BHS, was always very helpful and responsive. Three notch florals (flowers) and Manna catering (kosher catering) that Randi recommended also turned out to be the best vendors we could hope for.

A sophisticated Mediterranean oasis. The decor reflects a modern yet warm connection with nature. Greenery projects from the ceiling, art deco-style mirrors adorn the walls, and custom woodwork art installations create an ambiance that is both cozy and sophisticated. The semi- private dining space “ La Mascaret” has its own drinks counter, as well a custom- made undulating wooden sculpture mounted on a wall ( it’s meant to replicate teisting vines and flowing waves, natch) and a glass- encased wine cellar holding over 700 bottles.

They not only understood the nuances of wedding planning but also went the extra mile to offer their insightful advice and extensive experience. When the big day arrived, I was fortunate to have Sydney and Anthony overseeing the proceedings. Their impeccable coordination and attention to detail ensured that the day unfolded flawlessly. Their presence was a calming influence, allowing both me and my guests to fully immerse ourselves in the celebration. It's not just a venue; it's a place that now holds a special place in our hearts. Bottino's exceptional staff and service transformed our wedding into an unforgettable event, and it will always remain a cherished memory. I eagerly look forward to my next visit!

Temperance

5.0

New York, NY
  • Up to 75 guests
  • Select services
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $1,500

A vibrant and unpretentious West Village restaurant and wine bar with the best by-the-glass wine list in the world. Our food menu is Mediterranean-inspired and includes an eclectic assortment of small, but shareable bites. Our space is ideal for parties and receptions, but due to its floor plan, does not lend itself to wedding ceremonies or presentations where sight lines are critical.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Provides a dedicated team on-site
  • Creates a sense of togetherness
  • Multiple event spaces

Venue considerations

  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • No on-site bridal suite
  • Dance floor not included
As I planned our surprise engagement, I wanted to choose a location to go after that moment to celebrate with a larger group of friends and family that resonated with both of us, so our local wine spot, Temperance, was perfect. Having no idea whether they would even consider a private party I reached out through an email on the website and quickly realized how kind and accommodating the staff was. We were able to rent out the back patio and fully customize the space with our own set up and outside decorations. As a part of the space rental we were allowed an allotment of more than enough food and, more importantly, a customized collection of reds, whites, oranges and rosès. I’d recommend letting the staff pick the specific wines, they’re the experts after all (they did pick one special wine just for us and immediate family based on my specific request, but I like to pretend that was just for me). It was the perfect place to celebrate with around 25 of our closest friends and family. The one downside was they have a hard cutoff of 10pm due to some vocal neighbors but the staff was very upfront throughout the booking process that that was going to be the case, so there were no surprises. Additionally, because of how much we love the aesthetic inside near the bar and the room fronting Carmine Street, we also asked if we could start our engagement photo shoot at Temperance before they opened one night. Once again, we were met with a staff that went out of their way to help us anyway they could and even gave us a glass of wine each to take the edge off of some poses that feel extremely ridiculous in the moment, but turned out to be great pictures. We were as happy with those pictures as we were with both of those experiences at Temperance.

We had our rehearsal dinner at Popina for a group of 30ish people and had an amazing time! Our experience working with Popina was fantastic from start to finish. They worked with us and were easy to communicate with. Most importantly, the menu options were incredible and the food was delicious! All of our guests were blown away by the food we were served and could not stop raving about it. We used the outdoor garden space which was beautiful! Most importantly, when a sudden summer storm him, we were able to be protected by the retractable roof and our event carried on without any issues. We are so thankful to the team at Popina for helping make our wedding weekend a wonderfully special one!

King is an ideal venue for couples looking for an intimate celebration with a classic Soho feel and West Village charm. Our seated capacity is 36 guests. Additionally, we can accommodate up to 65 guests for a standing reception-style wedding.

From the moment we booked our wedding at King Restaurant, their team demonstrated a thoughtful, considerate, and meticulous approach that put us at ease throughout the entire planning process. The venue itself was intimate, elegant, and celebratory, creating a truly festive and charming atmosphere for our special day. They went above and beyond to customize every aspect, including crafting signature cocktails that reflected our favorite drinks with personal meaning, and serving an amazing spread of seafood towers, antipasti, and even espresso martini shots at the end of the night. The King Restaurant team's (thank you Nathalie and Angeles!) attention to detail and commitment to making our wedding day perfect was evident in every moment, and we are so grateful for the incredible experience they provided.

Glasshouse Chelsea was the perfect backdrop to our wedding day. Although the weather was perfect, this venue's value is its beauty in every weather and in every light of day or night. We worked with both Chelsee and Nikki and they were both professional and gracious. Their communication style was direct, prompt and transparent. Nikki even found us cocktail napkins at the last minute, helping the bar service. The venue itself, both the 21st floor and 14th floor, was stunning, upscale and practical. At first, I thought that elevator traffic might be an issue, but it was seamless throughout the night. The balcony was the perfect golden-hour-to-sunset photo background and proved to be a nice respite from the dance floor throughout the night. We couldn't have asked for a better wedding venue.

Houston Hall

5.0

New York, NY
  • Up to 250 guests
  • All-inclusive
  • Indoor

Houston Hall is a rustic wedding venue in New York, New York. Built in 1907, this former FBI parking garage has since been reconstructed as a vintage beer hall and brewery. Exposed brick, wooden beams, hand-painted murals and high ceilings with skylights offer the perfect environment for your wedding day and reception. This venue space features a unique, large and open-spaced floor plan. Houston Hall has the ability to accommodate up to 225 guests comfortably when seated. In addition, we have a spacious, private dressing room that overlooks the hall. This is where you can get ready before your walk down the aisle. Guests will be able to take in the warm, vintage environment of Houston Hall as they walk around the naturally lit, open space.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Pets can join the celebration
  • Space for a large guest list
  • Provides event staff

Venue considerations

  • Best for events with big guest lists
  • No built-in audiovisual options
  • No on-site guest accommodations
Houston Hall is an impressive space in its own right, a grand beer hall with a distinct history and a stunning interior, but it was transformed into a beautiful, otherworldly space for our wedding, one reminiscent of the most ornate and inviting banquet halls. The staff was terrific, making sure everything moved briskly and rearrangements -- for example, taking all the chairs from the ceremony and moving them to the dining tables -- were done effortlessly. The food is exceptional (seriously, the best wedding food we've had!), the drinks are well made, and the vibe is at once funky and hip while also being historical, invoking New York's past. We could not have picked a better place for our wedding, and, were we to do it over, Houston Hall would still be our number one choice.

I can’t say it enough that The Rockleigh should be at the top of everyone’s venue list. They were our 2nd of 3rd venues we were touring and we never went to our 3rd venue tour. My words simply can’t portray how magical a wedding at The Rockleigh will feel. As soon as you walk in we were hit with a “wow” feeling. The venue is simply beautiful and left us and all our guests in awe. On top of a classy and beautiful venue, the service the staff provided is truly unforgettable. They will be at your side the entire day making sure you don’t have to lift a finger and ensure that your day goes as exactly as planned (and might I say better than you planned it to go). The food was also the most flavorful dishes I have ever had the privilege of enjoying. I hope this review helps other couples decide that The Rockleigh should be where they have their wedding. I could not have asked for a more perfect day and that was simply thanks to the amazing staff and service The Rockleigh provides.
