Maine's only greenhouse event venue exclusively designed for wedding receptions and ceremonies. 2021 marks 72 years of Highland Farm’s history in Scarborough, Maine. From the beginning, the property has been operating as a greenhouse. In fact, in the 1800’s, Highland Farm was the largest supplier of cut flowers in the Northeast. Highland Farm is a family owned and operated business, and the undeniable sense of family and welcome energy is palpable the moment you step on the grounds. The saying is true here: “you come as strangers and leave as family.” The Greenhouse and The Farm has been run by 3rd generation owners, Joe and Christine since 2008, but Joe and Christine’s involvement in the farm runs far deeper than ownership. In 2009, the couple was married in one of the working greenhouses

Our venue is a restaurant/brewery that is very open and airy. We have high ceilings and exposed wood beams. Our company was started by 3 Dads. They all live in Scarborough and have children in the Scarborough school system. 1 is the Brewer (Michael), 1 is the Builder (Tim) and one is the Executive Chef (Jeff). We have a separate ceremony patio, a lawn ceremony option as well as a cocktail hour veranda. Ceremonies can take place on the patio, the grounds or under the trees or almost anywhere couples would like to on the property. We are an a la cart venue, which means we are a blank slate for you to create the wedding of your dreams. we offer ceremony benches a wooden arbor and a good amount of decor and lighting. There are TWO 5 bedroom houses on the property for rent. These houses are perfect for your wedding parties to stay at, and get ready at.

Our barn uses centuries - old techniques and traditions of joining heavy timber frames with a mortise and tenon method, supported by wooden pegs and brackets. Using local woodworkers and craftsman bring the true Maine experience to our barn. While building an old style building and incorporating all of today's amenities, such as temperature controlled environment, lighting, plumbing and plenty of parking it makes the perfect place for your venue.

Our family lives on one of the few farmlands within the borders of York, Maine. Our passion for preserving the endless open fields surrounded by two-hundred-year-old trees and generations of wildlife has encouraged us to share and celebrate with you. In addition, we have proudly continued to preserve history by restoring a barn from the 1700s that we discovered in Barnstead, New Hampshire, and brought to the coast of Maine.
