From the moment we first reached out to the team at The Colonial Hotel, we were impressed by their timely, detailed, and friendly communication style. On the day of our wedding, the space was absolutely beautiful - spacious yet comforting, with an elegant yet cozy atmosphere that put us and all of our guests at ease. Mary and her team clearly love what they do, and went above and beyond to ensure our special day was perfect in every way. First Zola review! The short and sweet review of this venue is that it was perfect. If it’s details you’re looking for, then we have those for you too. Prior to getting engaged, we had discussed what our ideal wedding day would look like and had both agreed that a mountain-top ceremony was what we both envisioned. For the moment we turned into the Pat’s Peak parking lot and saw the beautifully maintained grounds, rustic ski-village inspired buildings, and cozy lodge we had a feeling we had found our wedding venue. The wedding team at Pat’s Peak was incredible to work with, helping us through every single step and answering every question we threw their way. A huge standout to us as a couple was how accommodating they were of our requests and the level of personal touches we were permitted to do which made our day extra special. While it is of course important to hear what the bride and groom thought of the venue, an aspect we’d like to add to this review is what our guests thought. It’s been two weeks exactly since our wedding at Pat’s Peak and we’re still receiving non-stop compliments from our guests on the venue we chose. We opted for the summit ceremony and we will remember that chairlift ride and view from the top as we got married for the rest of our lives. The weather was perfect for us (which we know is not always the case) but a BIG reason we picked Pat’s Peak is because we liked the weather back up options that were provided to us. Our guests RAVED about the chairlift ride to the top for the ceremony and the scenic ride down for the reception. Special call out here for the lift operators who went above and beyond to be friendly and genuinely excited for our big day. As the bride and groom, we loved the ability to set up lawn games like giant Jenga and cornhole on the deck that provided the perfect environment for guests to enjoy a cocktail, mingle, and connect during cocktail hour and the reception. We opted for a buffet style meal, which provided more than enough food for our guest count of around 100. Everything from the apps, buffet dinner, s’mores bar and ice cream sundae bar was absolutely delicious. To wrap this review up, we’d like to call out Pat’s Peak staff including Brigid and Mary Beth. These two (including our bartenders, and the rest of the amazing staff) worked tirelessly in perfect coordination with our vendors to make sure our day was completely perfect and ran smoothly. We cannot thank them enough for all their help and hard work. Prior to our wedding, we had no connection or tie to Pat’s Peak but now, it will forever hold a special place in our hearts. If you’re considering Pat’s Peak and looking for a quaint, rustic, and inexplicably cozy wedding venue, we’ve found it.

As a wedding photographer, I'm always thrilled when I get an inquiry for a wedding at the Montague Retreat. It's one of my all time favorite places to photograph. Their team is highly experienced and very thoughtful. I know I can rely on them with any help I may need. The landscapes are dreamy, and the reception hall is beautiful. The long dirt road that leads to the retreat makes for beautiful New England portraits, and the view from the hill at sunset is unforgettable. 10/10 would highly recommend the Montague Retreat Center. I cannot say enough positive things about the Rosewood Country Inn as a wedding venue. This venue is special in that you get the entire 11-room inn for the weekend (Fri-Sun), and so we were able to have our closest friends and family staying with us, which was a blast! The inn offers a beautiful country setting on the outside that is perfect for an outdoor ceremony. We held ours at the gazebo in the courtyard, which was surrounded by beautiful trees and scenery that make for gorgeous pictures. The dining hall of the inn hosts the reception, and is perfect for an intimate and stylish dining experience that then morphs a dance floor! The food is excellent (Stan's stuffed french toast can't be missed), not only for the reception but the rehearsal dinner and breakfasts on Sat and Sun. Stan and Odo are extremely kind and gracious hosts, who let us make our wedding truly our own!

I had my eye on The Grove at Briar Barn Inn since it was simply a blueprint on an Instagram post. From the start, I knew it was going to be where I would get married someday. There is just something so quintessentially charming about the post and beam restaurant and the quaint New England Inn. The entire experience working with The Grove was great. We picked December 8th for not only the idea of a winter wedding but also for the holiday decor and availability for our preferred vendors. They were flexible in putting together the details and stuck to all the outlined dates and deadlines. We were assigned our wedding coordinator, Jeannine, about six weeks out as they said, and we were able to have our wedding details meeting soon after. The payment portal was easy to use, and the planning pod was intuitive and a great spot to keep important details in order. Jeannine answered all my questions promptly, and in the week leading up to the wedding, she was available for us to drop off all the decor ahead of time and spent time reviewing our vision one last time. On the day of, she was present, available, and helpful. She was detailed and organized and never pushy. She let us have our day and was there to help transition to the different elements seamlessly, paying attention to all the details so we wouldn't have to. Our guests have had only positive things to say about the entire day from the incredible food and the overall atmosphere. The only critique I have of the entire experience is the check-in process at the Inn. We had a 20 room block and ended up with 29 of the 30 rooms booked by our guests. The Inn has a very strict 2pm early check-in for 50 fee or 3pm otherwise check-in. We had a Sunday wedding in December where we had a first look and formal portraits at 2pm before a 4:00 ceremony because of the early sunset. We weren't able to stay Saturday night due to another wedding buy-out. The Grove accommodated me by making the hospitality suite available for us to get ready in; however, the Inn did not accommodate the groom getting ready. We rented out the Silo/Library for 250 to try to have a space for the men to get ready, but they didn't set up the privacy screen and there were too many people milling around for him to get changed in the non-private space. After a lot of inquiry from our wedding coordinator, our officiant, and our makeup artist, they finally let him into the room at 1:45 for the additional 50, but at that point it was only enough time for him to drop his phone and wallet. He ended up changing in the single stall bathroom in the basement of the Inn, which is a nice bathroom of course, but we would have liked a little more flexibility for us to have 1 room with early check-in to give him a bit more privacy. Flipping one room early for the bride and groom doesn't seem like a lot to ask in the grand scheme of the day or even offering some alternatives - we likely would have paid for a full extra night even if we couldn't get into the room the night before just to have the spot, but they didn't give us any options to work with until 1:45 p.m. ahead of 2pm call time. My recommendation for future couples is to negotiate into the wedding contract for something ahead of time if you could potentially run into the same issue, especially if you're out of towners who don't have other options nearby.
