Known for their expertise in event planning, this property hosts around 100 weddings and corporate events a year. This casual venue attracts guests from Massachusetts & Southern New Hampshire on wedding weekends, and business travelers from Tyco International throughout the week. With a restaurant and catering service onsite, The Colonial Hotel provides unparalleled service & event expertise for their guests. The Colonial Grille, offers a variety of functionality from rehearsal dinners to birthday parties and everything in between. The restaurant provides a local draw from the Gardner, MA area and contributes to the property’s off-season push throughout the months of January – March.

The tent features a full bar set-up and completely covered entrance to the hotel. The fabric ceiling drapings and french window sidewalls will bring elegance to any occasion.

Great wedding
The Colonial Hotel was absolutely perfect for our wedding. We had 150 guests and a goal to have a good time, while looking classy and hitting the “must do” traditions. We strongly encouraged guests to stay at the hotel. Everyone commented how great it was we held all events on the property (ceremony outside, cocktail hour on the patio, reception under the tent, afterparty in the restaurant) and they could really enjoy themselves with a short walk to bed. The reception and cocktail hour were decorated even better than I expected. Mary and her team are great and absolutely know what they are doing at their venue. As the bride planning a wedding, I loved not needing to coordinate many vendors (Colonial handled the food, setup/cleanup/staff, wedding cake, all event coordination, etc). I used a preferred vendor for flowers which was helpful as well since they knew exactly what would fit and look nice (plus the staff at the hotel). Great place for a classy, fun wedding.
Best venue!
From the moment we first reached out to the team at The Colonial Hotel, we were impressed by their timely, detailed, and friendly communication style. On the day of our wedding, the space was absolutely beautiful - spacious yet comforting, with an elegant yet cozy atmosphere that put us and all of our guests at ease. Mary and her team clearly love what they do, and went above and beyond to ensure our special day was perfect in every way. We are so grateful for their hard work and dedication, which allowed us to simply enjoy the celebration without any stress or worry. The Colonial Hotel is hands down the best wedding venue we could have asked for.
Amazing Location
Mary and her team at the Colonial were amazing. They walk you through everything and make it easy to keep track of what you need to bring and what you need to do when. You can tell this is a popular wedding spot just by how streamlined they have made everything. This is a group tasting vendor where they bring in everyone for the year; however, they make the tasting fun and you get to meet affiliated vendors that you can choose to book with. The grounds are beautiful and cozy while being easy to get to. They made our day seamless. I was worried, because most people I spoke with before the wedding said to just go with the flow because something always goes wrong, and to be honest, I felt like nothing did; I feel like that's because the Colonial and their vendors really cared about making our day special.
The Best
The Colonial Hotel was so incredibly amazing I don’t think I’ll have the right words to describe it. The coordinating team was so thoughtful, helpful, accommodating, kind .. Mary went above and beyond to answer all of my questions and make sure our day was beyond perfect. Anya and Kayleigh supported us beyond perfectly throughout the wedding day and get us where we needed to be without taking away from any of the fun we were having. The food was incredible and everyone made sure my allergies could be accommodated. The ease of having every part of our wedding in one place was exactly what we were looking for. Not to mention it’s just beautiful. Us and our families had the weekend of our lives. The Colonial Hotel is the best place to get married.
