This is a little over an hour drive, but totally worth it! This is one our our favorite beaches and the town is super cute as well. There is free parking and lots of things to do from farmers markets to shelling to bakeries! The beach has darker sand and is very quite - this is Jewels’ favorite.
SO. MUCH. FUN. This is in Downtown Fort Myers. We recommend heading to Oxbow Restaurant - it is right on the river with amazing sunset views.
Another amazing beach! This beach is one of our favorite public beaches within an hour drive. This beach does require you to pay for parking, but it is a beautiful island and is definitely worth visiting. The sunset here is the best we’ve seen.
This is our “home” beach and is about a 20 minute drive. Fort Myers Beach is on Estero Island which was hit really hard from the hurricane. The town is still destroyed, but the public beach access is open. Be sure to check water quality status online before swimming as the red tide and hurricane debris have been an ongoing problem. This beach is normally busy and loud, but is a great option if you want to stay close.
