Yifan and Andy's favorite West Side brunch spot, blocks away from where they first met.
Yifan and Andy's second date spot, blocks away from where they first met. It was on this date where Yifan suspected Andy didn't have a car, since all the places he suggested were within walking distance. In Andy's defense, they do have awesome mole plates and margaritas.
Andy ordered a short rib burrito from this spot approximately 1-2 times a week from 2013-2019.
Yifan is a huge fan of their Pear & Blue Cheese ice cream. Andy is not.
Yifan and Andy's favorite Thai Town spot. Hands down.
Great Taiwanese food that's a little boujee. Get the dumplings!
If you haven't brunched here, you aren't a real LA transplant. This used to be Charlie Chaplin's old studio.
It's ramen... but you dip the noodles INTO the broth.
Awesome Japanese food on the east side that does casual omakase platters and skewers.
Gigantic Korean meat platters smothered in cheese that are melted with a blow torch in front of your eyes. No wonder why the lines can get so unruly!
Arguably the most popular Korean BBQ spot in LA. The wait times are legendary, but they at least serve drinks in their patio waiting area. Parties of 6+ can make a reservation!
LA has a really cool Ethiopian neighborhood in West Hollywood and this is one of our favorite spots for shareable curries served on Injera bread. Warning: While Injera bread is spongey and light, it will expand in your stomach and make you dangerously full if you underestimate it. Andy learned this the hard way a few months into dating Yifan.
Couldn't have a list of LA spots without an elite taco truck recommendation.
Great Middle Eastern restaurant in DTLA, somewhat fancy.
Awesome restaurant in Arts District where Yifan and Andy celebrated their engagement night. The biscuits are preposterously good.
Elite cocktail bar that also does great share plates.
Some of the best Italian food you'll find in LA. Evan Funke's first child (if you're a foodie like Yifan, this statement will make sense).
Super cool museum across the street from Omni DTLA that oddly resembles a block of cheese. It's also pronounced "the Bro-ed"... bro.
Another super cool museum across the street from Omni DTLA that looks less like cheese than The Broad.
An absolute staple of Andy's twenties in LA, this is a giant brewery that features unique craft beer, food trucks, board games and, of course, cornhole.
1980s-style arcade bar featuring old school video games and pinball as far as the eye can see. They also have DJs and a small dance area next to Street Fighter. Right down the block from Angel City Brewery.
Is this the greatest mall in the world? You tell us.
This is a large hill / mini mountain south of downtown Culver City that features a long set of asymmetric stone stairs that will turn even the most titanium legs into noodles. A very popular hike / exercise spot for locals sporting a great view of the city at the top.
Figured the beaches in LA speak for themselves. You can't go wrong with Venice, Santa Monica, Manhattan Beach or even Malibu if you're willing to make the drive up the Pacific Coast Highway. If you're an out of towner, get to the beach!
