Can I bring my children?

Although we love your little ones, this is an adult-only affair - with very few exceptions (i.e. ushers and flower girls). We hope this notice is enough time for you to make other arrangements and celebrate with us for a much-deserved night off! We’ve polled our local friends with kids and have heard only positive reviews from sitters found on Care.com or Sittercity.com.

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Colorado weather can vary drastically, and remember, we will be at 9,000 feet above sea level. It’s typically very warm in the sun (especially at this elevation) and chilly when the sun sets. Come prepared for both and keep an eye on the forecast! While dinner will be inside, the ceremony, cocktail hour, and part of the dance floor will all be outside and mostly on an uncovered deck.

How do I prepare for the elevation?

Answer

DRINK WATER! Seriously. Start increasing your water intake the week before traveling to Colorado. Continue drinking water throughout the night, especially if you’re drinking alcohol. Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

We will have shutters available from the town of Idaho Springs and the hotel where we have reserved a block of rooms. Details can be found on the Travel page of this website!

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes, there is a parking lot at the venue, should you choose to drive to the venue. PLEASE READ the detailed directions here (https://www.northstargatherings.com/venue) and be sure to download the directions prior to leaving. There are two routes to the venue. The route through Idaho Springs is quicker but will take you up many switchbacks on a well-maintained dirt road. We recommend the route through Evergreen if you are uncomfortable with mountain driving.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

We will start promptly at 4:00pm. Plan to arrive by 3:45pm to be seated prior to the start.

What is the dress code / attire for the wedding?

Answer

Cocktail Attire. Please no jeans.
