“I’ve been checking you out all night” “That’s ok - I’ve been doing the same” Two lines, exchanged by two people, on one fateful night nearly ten years ago. Jacob and Whitney met on the final night of NYMF (that's the NY Musical Festival- R.I.P.). Jacob was producing a show, while Whitney was performing in another one. Jacob hurriedly entered the venue, making sure to check out the bathrooms, but instead of checking out the bathrooms his eyes met Whitney's. This fleeting moment was one they write about, where time slows and an almost imperceptible, knowing smile briefly flashes across their faces. Throughout the night they continued to circle the room, exchanging glances, each working up the courage to talk to the other. Jacob finally had an “in” and, wasting no time, proclaimed those 8 words… and they’ve been staring at each other ever since.
