A long, long time ago, Catie and Will were attending Clarke County High School. As luck would have it, Catie could often be found skipping world history (Sorry Mrs. Harris) down at the ag shop during the same class block that Will took an ag class. Catie quickly found a much better way to pass time than a history class would by teasing the tall kid with a cute grin whose ears turn pink when he blushes. Will and Catie got to talking and then got to texting and soon it seemed like they might even make it official. They sat beside each other for a few classes, a couple of lunch periods, and even walked the halls together a few times. So when Will decided that it was high time to put a label on it, he had some interesting timing, as usual. On day one of 2011 National FFA Convention, while Catie was in Indiana moving in, he texted her and asked if she would be his girlfriend. Catie immediately panicked and cut all communication. When she got back from convention she even went back to history class, stopping any further contact because the only thing worse than a ghost is one that sticks around. Some may blame it on some bad advice, some might say that it just wasn't Catie's brightest moment, but certainly no one expected them to run back into each other years later. Fast forward to 2019, Catie had just graduated from college and unsurprisingly, was leaving work a little late. Low and behold William, also working late, was walking across the parking lot of High Gear Truck Repair after dropping off a truck. They talked in the parking lot for a few moments, but neither of them are what you would call chatty after a long day at work so they returned home without sharing a single bit of contact information. Luckily, they were friends on social media and Catie finally dug up the nerve to message him. Turns out he is just as funny now as he was back in high school. A few months later and they were going on their first date, the rest is what they would call history. William thinks this is still the funniest story to tell, much to Catie's chagrin.
