I was nervous to attempt dating on an online site. I gave in after a year of persuasion from my friend Olivia, who had to help me fill out a profile. Little did I know the first online date would be the first and last, because I found “the one “. Our first date , I saw Dale walk up in “one” of his Red Wings t-shirts. Little did I know that was just one of many. He walked with confidence, but I was of course nervous whether we would click as we had been prior to meeting. He’s a person you can’t help be drawn to. He exhibits patience , understands my humor, is easy to talk to. Conversations and being around him create an ease. Although, during our first date he mentioned his pet-peave of people that snorted when they laughed … I almost slunk out of the chair : thinking to myself “there definitely won’t be a second date”. Following that moment, I immediately laughed and snorted at something he said . I looked up anticipating a disgust in his face. He simply smiled back at me. Before we left, he asked if I wanted to go on date #2- for Top Golf the next day. Our demeanors match with one another. He is quiet at first , yet spunky. He is calm, patient, not easily rattled (unless I pull a prank on him) , sarcastic , witty, and random. After our second date, I will never forget his cute smirk when I looked back to see if he saw me hopping awkwardly towards the tee. Hoping he didn’t see me; he called me out immediately. The expression that spread across his face seemed to pause the moment , and he made me feel so comfortable. I knew I could be myself without hesitation. Our third “date” was the next day to watch football (specifically a Steeler’s Game), and we’ve seen each other every day since. He encourages me to be better . The way he sees me , builds my confidence daily, and his insight and genuine self is like no other: as my best friend and partner. Fast forward 2 1/2 years : we have a new home , (which is where he proposed) with our 3 fur pups. Every day with Dale I can’t wait for the next day to follow and enjoy life with him. I never knew I would “swipe” the right way and find my Mr. Right - but I truly did .
The first thing I noticed about Brittany was how shockingly beautiful she was. We met for a couple drinks. I had been hanging out at friends house prior to getting “ready” for the date. The date was fairly long due to the ease of the conversations. I immediately knew I wanted a second date. At the end I asked her if she wanted to get together again. She said she did, so I suggested going to top golf the next day. The next day comes and I don’t hear from her for a while. I was thinking she changed her mind. I found out later she had been panicking because she didn’t know how to contact me and had misplaced her phone while trying to buy her sister birthday balloons. I later realized this is something she does several times a day. Her personality really shines through on the second date. She was funny, witty, and as always absolutely beautiful. The next day she came over to watch football. She showed up with pizza and beer. She already knew the way to my heart. We ended up seeing each other every day after. We introduced our dogs, which was a bit of a process. They barked and growled at each other until one day, I guess they realized they would be stuck with each other and decided to get along. Brittany is the kindest, most thoughtful, and selfless person I have ever met. She always puts others first and I am truly lucky to have her in my life. This has been an eventful year for us. We bought a house, got engaged, and started to plan a wedding. There is no one I’d rather go through life with other than Brittany. She makes everyday the best day.
