Our first date was September 4, 2021 at Main Street Coffee in East Greenwich, Rhode Island. We had met on a dating app (no cute meeting story here) and had been talking for a few weeks. Ashley had weekend plans with friends, but Jason asked to take up just a couple hours of her time to meet for coffee. The rest is history!

Jason completely blindsided Ashley by proposing at 6am, at sunrise, on our friend’s boat. Our friends asked us to take a sunrise photo of them and then said "your turn!". We posed for a picture and it was taking a while. Ashley looked around and questioned what was taking so long. Out of the corner of her eye she sees Jason nod to his friend, and our song starts playing. Jason then whispered, "I have a question for you". The next thing you know, Jason is down on one knee asking "Will you marry me?". Thinking it was just a normal day of fishing, Ashley was not prepared for the best moment of her life to happen! We are so glad it happened this way, and that it truly was the biggest and best surprise. Jason would also like it to be known that we caught a lot of fish that day. Overall, a big success!
