Why elope?

Great question. The thought of trying to plan a full wedding while finishing post-doc and studying for the EPPP gave Danielle hives and random bouts of tearfulness. That just seemed to undermine the joyfulness of the thing.

How do your families feel about you guys eloping?

Answer

I mean, obviously, they love us and just want us to be happy. We hope that they are also relieved not to have to go through a second wedding shindig.

How do the kids feel about it?

Answer

We obtained all necessary tiny human permissions to proceed with the wedding, this includes Brian's two children and Danielle's oldest nephew who is a bit of a tyrant.

What names are y'all using now?

How thoughtful that you ask! Brian continues to go by Mr. Brian Dugre. Danielle will go by Dr. Danielle Dugre...unless you want to use her full title, in which case you may address her as Danielle of House McEachern, Summer born, 1st of her Name, Doctor of Psychology, Protector of Her Realm, Reader of Books, Baker of Treats, Finder of Lost Things, and Mother of Pug.

Where are you guys going to live?

Answer

In a state of wedded bliss. Seriously, Brian will live in Utah until next summer. He will travel back to Massachusetts at least every 4-5 weeks, and the kids will visit here as often as is reasonable for them to travel so far. It will be a hard and sad 12 months, but then we will move back east to be close to them.
