How We Met and Then Met Again

Danielle met Brian many years ago at a Halloween party in Holyoke, MA at Joella's place. Brian does not remember this at all. He was dressed as a prisoner - full orange jumpsuit. Danielle was the white spy from Spy vs Spy. She remembers this meeting clearly, but apparently, Brian was not as arrested by her as she was by him...haha.. From that memorable meeting, they never spoke and both proceeded to live very full lives. Years later, they were reintroduced at Joella's house - her current house. It was a fateful day when Brian abruptly opened the door to the kitchen and Danielle shrieked. Because she thought he was a burglar and he thought... well...no one knows what he thought because he probably thought something along the lines of Wow, that's a little neurotic, but Brian is too polite to ever say such a thing. Everyone laughed, except Danielle, who just turned red, and scurried back to the basement. Within a few days, they were talking and hanging out pretty much all the time, connecting on deep issues such as a love for Old-Fashioneds, hiking, living with freckles, American Gods, and avoiding crowded places. It was apparent how well their strengths complemented each other's weaknesses, like Danielle's total ignorance regarding automotive mechanics or any kind of household repair, and Brian's ability to do literally everything. Danielle's enthusiastic planning of adventures in hot yoga, international travel, and large scale baking projects expanded Brian's life in ways that he never knew he wanted. They fit together like all the best things, peanut butter & jelly, milk & cookies, Srichacha & chocolate cake... Even being separated by 2,100 miles only made them closer as friends and even more deeply in love. Hundreds of hours of phone calls, text messages entirely in GIFs, and volumes of mixed CDs later, it was clear that this was going to be a forever thing.

For all the days along the way
