FAQs

If you have any questions other than what are listed here, please feel free to text Hayley at (248) 756-6208 or Sue at (248) 396-7598. Don't forget to make sure we have your contact information! https://www.zola.com/addr/bkm4A1DGN
Question

Who can I bring with me?

Answer

Please restrict the attendees in your party to those listed on your invitation. We wish we could accommodate all our friends and family, but resources restrict this. We hope that we are able to celebrate with others at a later date!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Although we love your children, we regretfully cannot accommodate them at the venue due to restricted numbers.

Question

Do I need a vaccine?

Answer

We have a number of very important guests with autoimmune disorders and compromised immune systems due to grave illness. The wedding party will be vaccinated, and we strongly encourage all guests to be vaccinated if you are healthy enough to do so. ALL Michigan residents are eligible to be vaccinated starting April 5th, 2021, and vaccine boosters will be available September 20th, 2021. Please text Jake or Hayley if you're looking for vaccine information. NOTE: THIS REQUIREMENT IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE.

Question

Do I need to wear a mask?

Answer

Unvaccinated guests will be required to wear a mask to protect our immunocompromised wedding party members, family members, and guests. Vaccinated guests are not required to wear a mask.

Question

Can I attend the wedding virtually?

Answer

Yes! If there is enough interest from guests who can't attend the wedding, either because they're unavailable or uncomfortable attending without a vaccine, we will absolutely stream the wedding via Zoom. If you're among those interested, please be sure to note that when you RSVP!

Question

When do you need me to RSVP?

Answer

Please respond by September 25th, 2021 (Hayley's birthday!), but the sooner the better!

Question

How do I RSVP?

Answer

You can RSVP right here on our wedding website on the RSVP tab!

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes! The Detroit Yacht Club will provide complimentary valet parking to all guests.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony starts promptly at 5:30, and it's a bit tricky to navigate the route to the Detroit Yacht Club, so we recommend planning to arrive no later than 5:15. This will allow you time to find your seat and, most importantly, find the venue!

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

We're registered at Crate&Barrel, Bed, Bath, & Beyond, and Amazon.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes! The Detroit Yacht Club is a private club with a strict dress code. The wedding will be black tie optional. We recommend: black tie, semi-formal, or cocktail attire.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Yes! We hope you'll join us for the weekend at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center. We have a customized link and phone number to book your room under our hotel block. Please see the "Travel" tab on our website for our block of wedding rooms and the link to book at the discounted rate. If you'd like to book elsewhere, there are several other wonderful hotels in the Downtown Detroit area.

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

Yes! We hope you'll be able to make the most of the wedding weekend, because we plan to! After the rehearsal dinner, there will be a pre-wedding night party at (TBD).

Question

Where should I park?

Answer

For the wedding ceremony and reception, the Detroit Yacht Club is providing complimentary valet service to all wedding guests. If you are staying at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center, the hotel valet is not currently in service. The hotel recommends that guests park in the Center Garage, located at 414 Renaissance Drive West, across from the hotel Motor Lobby entrance. If you park in any other structure, you will be screened by General Motors security to enter into the Renaissance Center.

Question

Will there be a shuttle from the hotel to the DYC?

Answer

Yes! We are providing a shuttle service from the hotel to the DYC at 5:00 the day of the wedding, and the shuttle will be available to go back to the hotel throughout the evening. We will potentially offer an earlier shuttle time, as well. If you miss the shuttle, there will be complimentary valet parking provided at the DYC for all guests.

For all the days along the way
