Aci Castello / Aci Trezza
Things to do: - Visit the castle and museum which is located in Piazza Castello. The museum costs around €4 in cash. - Visit Chiesa Parrocchiale di San Giovanni Battista. - Walk the Lungomare to visit both towns. Stop by some lidos/restaurants on the way - Enjoy the view and/or book an excursion to see and visit The Faraglioni (Cyclops islands) - Look into a boat activity. The main boat company recommended by the hotels is linked here. Other sites like Get Your Guide and Viator have good recommendations on tours as well. Restaurants: - Giancarlo Barone - La Grotta - Il Covo Marino - Slurp (Gelato) - Al Tubo - Ristorante Pizzeria Lache - Le Muse Ristorante Pizzeria - GoGo 43 (cocktails) Beaches - Those staying at Baia Verde will have access to the beach via the hotel. - Other options include, spending time at a Lido: - Lido La Risacca - Lido Esagogno (potential location of our beach party) - Mama Sea - Lido La Giunca
Catania
Things to do: - Since the majority of the wedding will be in the Aci Castello/Aci Trezza area, we don't have a lot of recommendations for Catania. But if you're interested in checking out the city, we've linked an article that provides a great overview of it. This is a great option if you're looking to spend time in the city without having to travel north to Taormina. Restaurants: - Antica Marina - Sikulè - Raz Mataz (wine bar also) - Sapio Restaurant (high quality starred restaurant, reservation required in advance) Beaches: - La Playa - stretch of sandy beaches in Catania about 15-20 minutes south of Aci Castello area. This was recommended by the hotels.
Mount Etna
Mount Etna is an active volcano and is one of Sicily's major attractions with summer being one of the best times to visit. There is so much to do there - wine tasting, hiking, ATVing, and tours where you can see the craters. Visit the link here to find tours of things to do. Taormina
Taormina is a beautiful Sicilian city with so much to see and do. One of the best things to do is just walk around, admire the architecture and wander into their many shops - local and designer. Some other things include: - Trying their famous Granita at Bam Bar - Swimming in the sea near Isola Bella, a small island right in front of the city. If you want a more traditional sandy beach, you can go to the bottom of the hill and swim at one of the beaches in Giardini Naxos. - Visit the Greek-Roman theatre, a beautifully preserved amphitheatre that was started by the Ancient Greeks and later expanded by the Romans.You'll get to learn more about Sicily's ancient history. It costs €14 but it comes with spectacular views of the coast and Mount Etna.
