Alyssa and Charlie worked the same summer job at Cal State Long Beach as camp instructors. One of the activities for the camp was swimming. Every day Charlie and his group were the first ones to line up at the pool. For weeks, Alyssa did her best to get her group of kids in line right behind his. Every day for two weeks, Alyssa told her group "Let's go! We need to be first!" Finally, Alyssa and her group lined up next to Charlie. Alyssa introduced herself to him. "Hi, my name is Alyssa." They shook hands and Charlie said "Oh, Alisha?" Alyssa said "No." That was the beginning of their pool side chats.
They were in Hawaii with family for vacation. They were sitting by the beach watching the sunset as Charlie said to Alyssa "This is our last night here." Alyssa felt a rush of sadness upon her. She asked Charlie "What was your favorite part of the trip?" Charlie responded "Hopefully this part" and pulled out the ring. Alyssa blacked out.
