Things To Do

Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre

18300 West Alameda Parkway, Morrison, CO 80465

This iconic music venue is free to explore during the day. Whether you’re climbing the stairs of the music venue, or exploring the trails, it is a must see sight for many out of town guests.

Garden of the Gods

Colorado Springs, CO 80904

Garden of the Gods Park is a registered National Natural Landmark featuring dramatic views. Come admire the 300′ sandstone rock formations against the backdrop of snow-capped Pikes Peak and brilliant blue skies. It is less than an hour and 15 minute drive from Golden and Denver. We highly recommend it!

Denver Botanic Gardens

1007 York Street, Denver, CO 80206

The Denver Botanic Gardens are both beautiful and extensive. It could be a really nice stop to visit on Saturday. Tickets can be purchased online or at the gardens.

Kenosha Pass

CO 80456

Kenosha Pass is probably the best place to view the changing aspens near Denver. You can enjoy the drive up and stop for photos at the trailhead/parking lots. If you are feeling more active we suggest folks explore the hiking options as leaf peeping is even better up close and personal. Kenosha Pass is located about 65 miles southwest of Denver along US 285. From Denver, take US 285 towards Bailey, Colorado. From Bailey, continue driving approximately 19 miles on 285 to the Kenosha Pass Trailhead. The trailhead parking area is located on both East (left when coming from Denver) and West (right side when coming from Denver) of 285. There is additional parking on the East side after crossing a cattle gate. Parking can get tight in the Autumn when the aspens are at their peak, so be considerate of others and the land as you park your vehicle. It’s about a 90 minute drive from Denver. Restrooms can be found on both trailheads.

Georgetown Loop Railroad

646 Loop Drive, Georgetown, CO 80444

Tickets must be purchased in advance “Located just off I-70 and only 45 miles west of Denver, the Georgetown Loop Railroad and Mining Park is one of Colorado’s most authentic living museums and historically immersive experiences. Bring your family and friends for a narrow gauge train ride, book a real silver mine tour, or learn how to pan for gold. Discover the rugged romance of the Colorado Rockies in the 1880s. Climb aboard and travel back in time. We may just become part of the colorful history and traditions of your family too!” “Fall Colors September 22-24, September 29- October 1 See the spectacular gold rush of Colorado Aspens!
