Water. Water. Water. We recommend everyone drink a lot of water the week of their trip out here, while traveling, and also during their stay. Just traveling alone can be dehydrating, but now you have to also factor in a dry climate, and the altitude. Altitude sickness is no joke… the bride experienced it her first month in Colorado, just being at 1,000 ft elevation in the city (no hiking was needed to induce it). Needles to say, she learned to hydrate better, and regularly. SPF and Moisturizer *We recommend everyone pack SPF and moisturizer as the dry climate wreaks havoc on unprotected skin (your hands and face will thank you… and so will future you, when you look back on photos).
We are leaving this up to you all with just a few suggestions. 1. The trail to the ceremony site is very rocky and parts of it have an incline. *Wear sturdy shoes for the walk to the ceremony (think sneakers with good grip, boots that will stabilize your ankles, etc.) Feel free to bring a nicer pair of shoes to change into for photos and brunch. 2. Groom will be in slacks and a button down and bride will be dressed up. Folks are invited to also wear slacks and a button down, comfy dresses, rompers, etc. We just want to make sure you’re able to maneuver the trail to the ceremony and back. 3. Weather will be a little cooler in the early morning so you may want to bring a light layer. 4. Pack sunglasses and a hat for the weekend. That Colorado sun is strong!
Colorado weather can be very unpredictable. We recommend folks pack clothing that can be layered. Also, comfortable clothing depending on any outdoor activity you may want to branch off and do. It will still be very warm in September, and as the city of Denver is literally a mile high, you will almost always be nice and warm from the sun (We get nearly 300 days of annual sunshine). We recommend everyone pack SPF and moisturizer, since Denver features a semi-arid climate and dry skin is no fun!
