The classic Italian tour includes Milan, Venice, Florence, and Rome. These cities never lose their charm! To travel between them there are two main railways (both high-speed trains) -TRENITALIA https://www.trenitalia.com/en.html -ITALO https://www.italotreno.it/en The main train stations are: Milano Centrale or Milano Porta Garibaldi, Venezia Santa Lucia, Firenze Santa Maria Novella, Roma Termini or Roma Tiburtina. Milano and Rome have a subway systems, but the other cities do not. However, Florence and Venice were mede to walk around. If you do not have time, Florence, Venice, and Milano can be seen in one day (if you book all the museums in advance!) If you do have time, we recommend spending an extra day in Naples, the high speed train arrives also there.
Veneto is a beautiful region where you can find amazing villas by Palladio, incredible cities and good wine. If this is not your first time in Italy and you want to travel less, this is the trip for you. The cities: Padova, where there is one of the most ancient universities in Europe. Verona, the arena with its open-air operas during the summer is the place where you want to be after visiting Romeo and Juliet's house. Venezia, I am sure you already know everything about it. Gondolas, San Marcos Cathedral, the islands of Murano (glass) and Burano (colorful houses and laces), Leonardo's drawings in the Academia museums and Rialto's bridge. Vicenza, that houses the most ancient theater in Europe one must see! Near by Vicenza there are the Ville Palladiane, a series of Villas built by the famous architect Palladio that are open only in the summer. There are different tours available.
Ferrara, Bologna, and Ravenna are located in the region of Emilia-Romagna. Famous for their pasta, lasagna, and tortellini this region also offers national treasures. Bologna, famous for its tours, churches and the university. It’s an ancient city with picturesque porticos. Ferrara, where you can visit the Estense’s Castles and various palaces and churches. It is famous for being the city of bicycles. Ravenna, once directly on the sea, today Ravenna treasures Byzantine arts in churches and mausoleums. Also, here rests in peace our national poet: Dante Alighieri.
Firenze is the city of Renaissance, famous for its art. Be sure to plan your visit ahead and book the following museums. Uffizzi and Palazzo Pitti: if you like Giotto, Botticelli, Raffaello, Leonardo, and Caravaggio, you should come here! The Uffizzi are a Museum in partnership with Palazzo Pitti that you also want to see. The tickets for both are available at https://www.uffizi.it/en/tickets Galleria dell'Accademia: It's a very small museum with all the statues of Michelangelo that were not stolen by the Napoleon. Once belonging to the Medici Family, it is now a beautiful park. It is next to Palazzo Pitti but it requires a separate ticket https://www.uffizi.it/giardino-boboli We recommend you try the Fratellini's panini, the best and cheapest in Florence.
