What He Says: We met in Foot Locker in Oakland by the Lake. She was checkin me out! I gave her my card and invited her to one of Goap's shows. A few weeks later, she drove 2 hours in a rainstorm to come see me and the rest is history! What She Says: I had just moved to Oakland. I walked into Foot Locker one day with my friend, Maurice. Tyranny was there with one of his friends, Brenda. Maurice and Tyranny knew each other. Maurice introduced me to Tyranny and then Tyranny and Maurice started talking; so Brenda and I started talking (Luv u, B)! When it was time to go, Tyranny came over and gave me his card trying to act all smooth and said to call him if I ever wanted to go to one of Goapele's shows....LOL! I was thinking, "He's kinda fly!" But of course, I had to play it cool. Me: "Who is Goapele?" Having come from the east coast, I wasn't familiar with her music. I only knew a few people in the Bay, my Aunt Linda and Uncle Will, who I lived with when I first moved to CA, the woman who worked at the front desk at my apartment building, and Maurice. And since I had just moved to Cali, I pretty much just went to work, went to Jesso's (for fried catfish on Friday night) and came home. But I was getting bored. I called Tyranny one evening and he said Goapele was having a show in Sacramento if I wanted to come. I was laying on my air mattress (had no furniture yet!) watching TV bored out of my mind. It was raining really hard outside. But I was tired of sitting in my apartment by myself so I jumped in the car and drove 1.5 hrs to Sacramento in the pouring rain...I was THAT bored (I don't like the rain)! I got to Sacramento and met up with T. He was working so I pretty much watched the concert by myself, which I didn't mind..and Goapele was AMAZING! T kept coming over and checking on me all night, which caught my attention...I liked it! When it was over, he walked me to my car and then called to make sure I got home okay...again, I liked it! And the rest is HISTORY!
