HOW WE MET

December 25, 2014

It was around 8 PM on Christmas Day. Kristen (Sarah's sister) wanted to go over to her new boyfriend's (now husband- Travis!) house because he was having a small get together. Kristen dragged a reluctant Sarah over to Travis' house. There was a guy that caught Sarah's eye (Tyler, duh)... and the rest is history! Tyler and Sarah's first date came later in Iowa City. Tyler came to Iowa to visit both Travis and Sarah at school. Sarah and Tyler went ice skating for their first date. It went well with only a few mishaps (lost credit cards and a third wheel... Hi Kristen). Later that night they went out with friends and the night ended with a broken nose and two different stories on how it happened. Go ahead and ask Sarah for the correct story.

THE PROPOSAL

October 23, 2021

To start, Tyler recruited a few people to help and pulled off the proposal without Sarah having ANY inkling on what was about to happen. A few days earlier, Sarah's sister Kristen asked her if she wanted to get her nails done because she got a gift certificate from her then fiancé, Travis. They don't usually get their nails done together, but Kristen said she didn't want to go alone and invited Sarah to join. Fast forward to the next day, Sarah and her friend Kristina met up at Richardson's Corn Maze to hang out and attempt the maze! Sarah, who likes order, insisted that they start at the beginning of the maze and try to complete it in chronological order. Kristina, who knew something was happening, insisted we start at the end and work backwards. Begrudgingly, Sarah agreed. After a long hour of getting lost only a FEW times, Sarah and Kristina decided to stop for pictures about a quarter of the way through. They took turns standing under the bridge and when it was Sarah's turn, came the moment. When she was posing for the picture and was none the wiser, Tyler came walking up behind holding a pumpkin that said "will you marry me?" (painted by Tyler's sister-in-law, Rachel). Sarah then noticed what was happening, shook her head and said no a few times (shock at what was happening, not no to the proposal), but ultimately said yes (because it's about damn time!!). Following the proposal, Sarah just wanted to quit the maze and go celebrate. But Tyler insisted to finish since they already paid for it and then proceed to drag her through the remaining three-quarters of the maze to finish what they started!

For all the days along the way
