Maid of Honor
Kourtnie is my younger sister and God given best friend. Like any pair of siblings we used to argue all the time as kids and drive each other absolutely crazy. I remember my mom always used to tell us "we are the people who will always be there for one another and one day we're going to be so thankful you have each other". As always, mom was right and Kourtnie and I learned quickly as we got older just how lucky we were to have one another. We are friends, roommates, reality T.V lovers, travel buddies, and confidants. I have the most fun and laugh the hardest when I am with my sister. I couldn't picture my wedding day without her right by my side.
Matron of Honor
Kaitlyn and I met the summer going in to our sophomore year of high school at my church's summer camp. I remember clearly not wanting to go camp that summer because I didn't have any solid friends going and I didn't want to be alone. I've always seen God's work at camp, but He had a plan and gave me a best friend that summer. We instantly created a bond over having many things in common including our names. After Kaitlyn peed her pants laughing in a sleeping bag and I choked on a Cheeto at camp, we created an inseparable bond and a friendship for life. Kaitlyn and I have talked about being each others MOHs since we were in high school. I was Kaitlyn's maid of honor for her wedding and I wouldn't be able to have my day without her by my side as my Matron of Honor.
Bridesmaid
Maria and I met in 7th grade when a friend of hers invited me to eat lunch with them and from there the rest is history. Maria plays a lot of roles in our friendship; she's my friend, co-worker, life coach, and helps me adult daily. Often times you will hear us bickering like an old married couple and not understanding anything the other one is trying to say. Guess that's what happens when you've been friends since you were 12. We have grown up together and seen each other through some of life's biggest milestones and I can't wait to have her by my side for this next one.
Bridesmaid
Meagan and I met in Ms. Bertrand's Spanish class in the 7th grade. Meagan was the new girl at school and I overheard a boy in class talking to her about her church she goes to (coincidentally it was also the church me and my family had been attending for years). I have never been one to go out of my comfort zone and initiate conversation with new people, but for some reason that day I did. I ended up inviting her to come to the Sunday youth ministry and that Sunday Meagan showed up and we have been friends ever since. Meagan and I have been friends for so long it always makes it easy to pick right up where we left off like no time has passed. I stood next to her when she got married to her husband and I now can't wait for her to be by my side for my day.
Bridesmaid
Mine and Thea's mom's have been friends and worked together since we were little so technically we have known of each other for over a decade, but it wasn't until we worked together at our last job that we became friends. Thea is my friend I FaceTime with more than I call, we know every detail of each other's lives, is always down to do anything and is 1/3 of the trio that is the self titled "flat tire friends". You always need those friends that you can call at any time of the day and they'll be there for you or help you when you're in a bind and need a flat tire, Thea is one of those friends. I couldn't have my special day without her up there beside me.
Bridesmaid
The other member that completes our flat tire trio. Madison and I became quick friends through Thea when they were roommates. Me and Thea always hanging out turned in to me, Thea, and Madison and since then you can often times find us together. Madison is my ball buster friend that will always give you an honest opinion and tells you how it is. We know probably too much about each other's lives and I wouldn't have it any other way. Over the years Madison and I have grown to be good friends and I'm so glad we came in to each others lives when we did to celebrate some of life's milestones together. I'm excited to have her stand by my side on my big day.
Junior Bridesmaid
My relationship with the Beck family goes back almost 13 years when I was just a kid myself babysitting Brooklyn. Over the years Brooklyn and I have gone from princess dress up, her doing my hair and makeup, and playing board games to talking about boys, T.V shows, wandering Target together, and liking all the same things. The Beck family quickly turned into another family for me, people I adore and love to pieces, and have always taken care of me like their own. Brooklyn and I have always talked about the day I would get married and it only seems fitting she join me on the big day.
Best Man
Steve is one of my oldest friends in life. Steve and I met when I moved to Wisconsin and rocked a bright yellow popped-collar polo on my first day of school. As you can imagine, I was ridiculed for my attire but Steve didn't care (of course we made fun of it later). He has been there for me during middle school, high school, college, and now the real world. He is my nerd loving, previous roommate, work colleague, shotgun savant, swishy swishy no-face, and best friend. I am honored to have him standing next to me for the next chapter of my life.
Groomsman
Jacob has become one of my closest friend in the last few years. We quickly hit it off when Jacob trained my trading class at work and found out we both enjoyed PokemonGo. We decided to go on a bro date and the rest was history. We became roommates and we stuck together all through lockdown. He took up golf during lockdown and I became his golf coach. I quickly realized that was way too tall of a task so I requested he move to New York, and he obliged. Jacob can make a conversation with anyone and make anyone eye roll with his witty puns. He is someone I have leaned on a lot while first dating Kaitlyn and he was the first friend to meet her.
Groomsman
I met Dave when I was first starting with Charles Schwab in the 401k department. Dave was on an evening team and I quickly realized he was hilarious and someone to get to know. We would joke about anything and everything and that turned to us hanging out outside of the office. I quickly learned that Dave is someone I want to have in my life forever, considering we're both huge nerds and enjoy a good steak at The Keg. Dave is one of the most generous humans I have ever met. He puts everyone before himself and will sacrifice his time to help when he can.
Groomsman
Same as Steve, Travis is one of my oldest friends in life. He, Steve, and myself were all in the same middle schools classes and part of the same friends group. Travis and I bond the most over our love of golf. He played with me on the high school golf team, and when he moved to Phoenix a couple years ago (Which I take credit for convincing him and Shelby to move out here), he became my go to golf buddy. Travis is a grounded human being and is there for you when you are in need. I can't wait for everyone to chant "speech" during the reception to hear what witty joke he has to say.
Groomsman & Officiant
In my opinion, Ben and my relationship is the most interesting story. Ben started at Charles Schwab on my partner team and when he got hired in full, he came to my team. When I got to know him, I realized this was going to be tough being his boss because we liked a lot of the same things, hung out with a lot of the same people, and he was one of the most understanding and helpful people to be around. Only after a few months, he invited me to his wedding and it solidified our friendship. I look to Ben for opinions, knowledge, reactions, and guidance on a multitude of topics. He knows Kaitlyn's and my relationship well, and having him marry us is going to be such an amazing experience.
Groomsman
Sean. My ride or die, Vine film maker, fellow Daily Scoop Supervisor, professional drinker, and mini golf rival. Sean came into my life while I was going to school at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Sean initially hated me because I got too drunk and was puking in his apartment bathroom the first night we ever met. He eventually came around and realized that we were meant to be close friends. Through college, Sean was the person I spent most time with partying, studying, and generally goofing off with on the terrace. Thankfully when I moved to Arizona after school, we stayed close and made sure we still had a good time and consulted on how Oscar worthy movies were, even if they were hot garbage. If Vine was still around, I would want him to film a short clip of the wedding to go viral, I guess him standing up there with me will have to suffice.
Groomsman
Here we go, ANOTHER Schwabbie on the groomsman roster. I met Jamie when I moved to my current department at Charles Schwab. He was a manager while I was a representative and he quickly became a mentor. He has helped me be the man and leader I am today. He kicked me in the ass when I would be a knucklehead but also be a friend when I needed a shoulder during my most stressful times in life and career. I can attribute a lot of my success to him and how he impacted me. I loved all our times going to Applebees and letting loose when we were done working hard at the office. As I said, since he has been there for me so much in the past few years, it's a no brainer that I want him up there with me on my wedding day.
Groomsman
Weston is my cousin and brother from another mother. Born in the same year, we spent a lot of time together growing up, going on Ehlers family vacations in Kansas and California. Although we always lived across the country from one another, when we got back together for events or trips, we would pick things right back up. I love Weston so much and he has been such an amazing brother to me in my life and allowed me to enjoy myself and not get too stressed about anything that was bothering me when we were together. He is another one of my many golf partners and surprisingly the only other person I have played a competitive tournament with (we took 3rd place). It's a no brainer to have him by my side on my special day.
Groomsman
Max Gunner Ehlers. What a middle name. Max is my little brother and is one of the most talented, energetic, and fun person to ever roam this earth. We never really lived with one another growing up because of the split family, but it was always so fun to go visit him in Arizona or Colorado. His ability to play and write music is second to no one and I am astounded at what he can accomplish with a guitar. He is smart (maybe too smart for his own good) and when he puts his mind to something, there is no stopping him. I am so proud of the man he has become and the life he is building for himself now that he is living in Arizona. It will be amazing to have him next to me to share this important milestone in life.
