Sab's Maid of Honor
Choosing Mac as my maid of honor was the easiest decision I've made in all this wedding planning. Mac is my cousin, so she's kind of like a built in best friend. If you've met her you know she's the human embodiment of sunshine, she loves a good hike, and she's an absolute tank. Mac always knows how to make any situation the best time of your life and I'm blessed to call her my friend! Sometimes I feel like she knows me better than I know myself and vice versa. I’m lucky to have a friendship like the one I have with her: honest, compassionate, understanding, and full of love! I literally couldn’t imagine doing this without her.
Sab's Wedding Party
If you couldn’t tell by the last name, CJ is my sister. She has known me longer than anyone in this line up and I am truly better for it. Whether I need a laugh, a shoulder to cry on, or someone to share exciting news with — CJ is who I come to. Her heart is the most pure of anyone in this world and she’s also the funniest person alive. One day you’ll catch us finally starting a podcast and then you’ll all see! If you don’t know this lady you are missing out. CJ is truly one of the kindest people on Earth. She’s a loyal and selfless friend and I'm thankful every day to know and be known by her.
Sab's Wedding Party
Kenzie and I met working at Noodles & Co. at IUB. Thank god I took this job even though at the time I didn’t even LIKE pasta, because it led me to a group of lifelong friends, one of whom is this sassy bitch. Kenzie and I just get each other’s sense of humor and general way of life a.k.a. constant fatigue and lots of Diet Coke. Kenzie is the hot straight girl version of me. I love having a friend who understands exactly how I feel or what I’m thinking about something with only a look. Kenzie is the kind of friend who no matter how long between visits, whether we’re chatting it up or just sitting next to each other on our computers, we always have a great time being with each other. I am so thankful to have her in my life and my wedding party!
Sab's Wedding Party
Jenna and I go WAAAAY back, like to pigtails and bowl cuts and baby teeth. I am lucky to say that we’ve known each other for 20 years and even now it feels like we grow closer and closer the longer we’re friends! Jenna has what Kat and I like to call “excellent Jen-ergy.” Every room feels calmer, happier, and better with her in it. Jen has always made me feel at home and she’s always honest no matter what!! This gal understands the art of the chill hang better than anyone I’ve ever known. Jen has truly been such a good friend to me and I hope I’m even half as good a friend to her because she deserves the world! I’m glad to have this angel in my wedding party.
Sab's Wedding Party
Derek & I met in high school. He's my 2-time prom date & my number 1 favorite person to sit around & have a drink with. Derek is a very giving soul, but don’t say it to his face, it’s a secret! He's probably my silliest friend but he has consistently knocked my phone out of my hand any time I try to record him doing one of these said silly things for the past decade so you'll just have to take my word for it. Derek is one of the most loving and kind-hearted people on Earth but, again, DO NOT tell him I said this! It’ll go straight to his Ivy League head!! (I’m just kidding. I think the world of Derek. Please shower him with compliments, they make him very uncomfortable & he won’t look you in the eye afterwards but he deserves them.) I'm so ecstatic to have him standing by my side!
Sab's Wedding Party
Kayla and I met through work at Chewy and have been friends for only a few years, but it honestly feels like we’ve known each other for a lifetime! If you’ve ever met someone and just immediately clicked and understood each other then you’ll know how I feel about this guy. She is an absolute laugh riot, a great listener, and such a good friend. It kind of feels like we were destined to be in each other’s lives, because when I worked at the movie theatre my co-worker said I reminded him of Kayla before I had even seen or met her. Wild! Anyway, I’m thankful everyday to have her in my orbit and I’m grateful to have her standing with me!
Kat's Person of Honor
Mikaela and I met when I lived in Arizona. Their home state might as well have been another planet to me at the time. Cactus burritos? Socks with sandals? I can still smell the sage and sandalwood! Mikaela and I started jamming together on the front porch of our apartment complex and soon we formed a band of two. I've always thought that the way that Mikaela plays music mirrors how they behave as a bestie: Mikaela is supportive, creative and always open to trying new things! I'm grateful that our paths crossed and there's no one else I'd rather have by my side on my wedding day.
Kat's Wedding Party
Hattie and I have pretty much always been in each other's orbit! We're both born and raised in Lebanon, KY, we're both Taurus's (Taurus power!) and we played in middle school and high school band together. Our friendship really solidified on the bus rides to Lebanon Middle School. Hattie would share their headphones with me and it was through these bus rides that I got a crash course in punk rock. Through the years we've always kept in touch. Although now we live in different cities, we usually meet up at least once a year at the annual Marion Ham Days Festival over a soft pretzel and slushie. Hattie has always been so talented and their relentless pursuit of creativity has always inspired me!
Kat’s Wedding Party
I remember the day I met Haley! It was just another Friday night pep band gig. As I sat in the bleachers watching the basketball game with the rest of the Marion County High School band, the new girl approached me and plopped in the free spot next to me, saxophone in hand. "I'm Haley. I'm from Washington. What's your name?" She had the most welcoming, warm smile and I immediately knew she was a good egg. I couldn't imagine getting through the maze of high school without a true friend like Haley. Everyone deserves someone as generous and caring as she is in their lives. It's not often that we see each other these days but I think of her often and I'm so excited to share my big day with her.
Kat's Wedding Party
Fashionista, cat-whisperer, walking angel on this earth! This is how I would describe Triniti to those who aren't fortunate enough to call her their friend. Triniti is the type of person to ask you to repeat yourself if you get talked over at a crowded party. She'll create a truce with the grumpiest cat this side of the Mississippi (here's looking at you, Onion). She's got the biggest heart of anyone I've ever met. Being a fellow Aquarius moon, her calming presence is always a breath of fresh air. I thank my lucky stars that I met Triniti!
Kat's Wedding Party
You'd be hard-pressed to find anyone more loyal than Kaleigh Cravens. She'll fight anyone, anything - man or beast - to defend her squad. She'll read you for filth with a stack of beautiful, custom tarot cards. She'll make the room erupt with laughter with a one-liner. She'll make you the best mixed drink you've ever had. She'll give you the shirt off her back. She's one in a million and I'm so lucky to know her. We share an eerily similar taste in music. There are very few people I know that would agree to just sit and listen to an entire album start to finish. Kaleigh's that person.
Flower Gals
Our wedding parties may be overflowing, but I couldn't possibly get married without these lovely ladies being a part of it. I met Anissa and Rachel at Noodles & Co. in college -- little did I know that cavatappi noodles would bond us for life! Both of these gals are so loving, kind, filled to the brim with sass, honesty, and selflessness. I am so proud to call them both my friends and I cannot wait to see how cute they look spreading lil flower petals during the ceremony!
Officiant
Deciding on an officiant was tough for us. We threw around quite a few options but nothing felt exactly right or perfect until finally Robin’s name came up. We looked at each other and we both started tearing up and that’s when we knew she was the only person for this job! We love playing cards and receiving honest and loving life advice from Robin in the process. There’s no one we’d rather have declare us gay married!
