Most romantically, we were scrolling on a dating website and decided to swipe right. We talked each and every day until we could finally meet a month later (thanks covid). After going on our first date, I asked for a second date. He was surprised I offered but thrilled that I did. After the second date, he casually told me that I was his girlfriend. I had to ask him more than once if he was serious because I couldn't believe he made the first move! And the rest is history. I am so thankful for that lousy app (and God) for bringing us together. I could not be happier to marry my best friend!
It was the night of our two-year anniversary. On our first date, we went to Buffalo Wild Wings and after, the Marshfield Zoo lights ( Rotary Winter Wonderland). While at the lights, we went to visit the wolves. Matthew's excellent pickup line was "Come here, I'll throw you in with the wolves!", so naturally, we go to see those same wolves every year as a tradition. Well, we went to see them again this year. The path was icy and very snow-covered, but I was excited to see them and take our annual pictures. As I was taking a picture, I turned around, and there he was, on one knee in the snow. If I was thinking, I would've taken a picture of him, but instead, all I did was cry and say yes over and over before he could even ask if I would marry him. Did I mention it was freezing cold that day? We both were unequipped for tramping through the snow, yet I am so glad we did.
February 2021- First Minnesota trip Matthew and I went to Minnesota to the Mall of America. We were dating for only 3 months at the time, and this was our first weekend away together. Both of us were so sad to leave on another that Sunday evening. April 2021- The first I Love You We both had wanted to say it in Minnesota (the second trip in March), and Matthew confessed he had almost said it saying goodbye on the phone a couple of times. It was right before I went to work, and we both kind of just blurted it out to each other. It was so cute and memorable. June 2021- Tyler and Emma's Wedding Matthew was the best man for Tyler at their wedding. This day was magical for not only Tyler and Emma, but it was very special to us as well. I still think back to this day! Also, on my birthday (a day before the wedding), Matthew gave me a promise ring! This was a huge step in our relationship and one fond memory we will never forget. July 2021- Moving in together My lease was ending on July 31, so prior to that, Matthew and I had talked about us living together. I was at his apartment almost every day anyway, so we decided we could take that leap. It was the best decision for our relationship! August 2022- Buying our first home! This whole process was extremely stressful and chaotic, yet so worth it. We love our home together and couldn't imagine anything different! We soon discovered that we really love our neighbors as well! July 2023- Moving to Kenosha Matthew and I have had a lot of fun exploring this new city and are really enjoying it so far! We love our apartment and even got a dog!! Beyond these amazing memories, we have grown together as a couple. We know that this is the right decision, especially knowing we have God on our side!
