Travel

The Wedding Website of Trip McDermott and Kate Hanson
Welcome to Vail! For ease of travel, our recommendation is to fly into EGE (Eagle County Regional Airport) and take an Uber/Lyft into Vail. The hotels listed below are all within a 5-10 minute walk from the venue. There is also a free shuttle that runs through town.

Hotel

Austria Haus

242 East Meadow Drive
Vail, CO 81657
 (866) 921-4050

The Austria Haus is less than a 5 minute walk to the Sonnenalp.

Hotel

The Hythe

715 West Lionshead Circle
Vail, CO 81657
 (970) 476-4444

We stay at The Hythe often! It's dog friendly and has a great hot tub and gym. Easy shuttle ride from Lionshead to Vail Village.

Hotel

The Sebastian

16 Vail Road
Vail, CO 81657
 (970) 331-0698

The Sebastian is only a few doors down from the venue in Vail Village.

Hotel

Evergreen Lodge

250 South Frontage Road West
Vail, CO 81657
 (970) 476-7810

The Evergreen Lodge is a great place to stay that is usually more affordable - it's like an old ski lodge! It is in the perfect location between Lionshead and Vail Village and there is a shuttle that you can take.

Hotel

Sonnenalp

20 Vail Road
Vail, CO 81657
 (866) 284-4411

The ceremony, cocktail hour and reception will take place at The Sonnenalp.

House Or Rental

Airbnb

There are BEAUTIFUL Airbnb options around Vail. Grab a house with your friend and family!

Flight

Denver

DEN (Denver International Airport) is roughly 3 hours from Vail, depending on traffic. If you fly into DIA, you will either need to rent a car or take the Rocky Mountain Express Shuttle to get to the village. Luckily in April, incremental weather is not a concern for driving through the mountains.

Flight

Eagle

EGE (Eagle County Regional Airport) is only 30 minutes away from Vail Village. It can be more expensive than flying into Denver but saves you the need to rent a car. You can take an Uber or the Epic Mountain Express Shuttle.

Travel Note

Shuttle - Denver

Book a shuttle on the Epic Mountain Express from the Denver Airport to Vail Village. • Travel time to Vail from Denver International Airport – around 3 - 3.5 hours each way, depending on season and traffic • Distance: 125 miles • $79 per person • $64 for Epic Pass holders with Epic Mountain Rewards

Travel Note

Shuttle - Eagle

Book a shuttle on the Epic Mountain Express from the Eagle Airport to Vail Village. • Travel time to Vail from Eagle County Regional Airport - around 30 mins each way • $49 per person to Vail, Beaver Creek, Avon, Edwards • $40 with Epic Mountain Rewards 20% off Just enter your Epic Pass number at check-out! • Private vehicles to Vail from $219

Rental Car

Rental Car - Denver

8500 Peña Boulevard
Denver, CO 80249
 (303) 342-2000

If you fly into DIA, you can rent a car to get to Vail. Note: you will not need a car in Vail for any of the wedding events. The entire town is walkable and there is a free shuttle that traverses from East Vail to West Vail, including Lionshead Village. Parking at hotels can be expensive but we understand that some guests will prefer this more private mode of transportation.
