We met in July of 2018 as a set up! Lizzie agreed last minute to go on a girls trip to Disneyland with a few gym friends (flight was booked 20 mins after the trip was mentioned!) and one of those friends happened to be Tommy’s cousin, who he lived with! She was impressed by how spontaneous Lizzie was, and realized the other most spontaneous person she knew was her cousin Tommy (who happened to be single!) We met for drinks at The Vesper, a speakeasy style bar in downtown Campbell, and really hit it off! The older couple next to us spent our whole date listening to us, which we still laugh about today! When we were both excited to get ice cream after the drinks, we knew it was a great date! Fast forward a few months later, and we were already meeting each others' families! We had many fun adventure trips together (Santa Barbara, Tokyo, Bora Bora, Mexico City, Normandy, and Paris) and ended the 'before times' pre-COVID with the best trip of them all - Kauai, Hawaii, where Tommy proposed using Lizzie's Grammy's ring! We were excited to plan a 2020 wedding, but obviously the world had other plans. Nevertheless, being able to spend so much time together during COVID has been a blessing! Tommy was the best support Lizzie could ask for during her health issues and subsequent surgeries in August. In October, we brought home the sweetest puppy, Pete, and bought our first house in December. We sure did a lot in 2020, and are looking forward to the adventures the next 50+ years bring! Since we weren't able to have the wedding we wanted in 2020, we decided to change course and have a ceremony and brunch with our immediate families on April 10, 2021. We had the best day, and we are SO excited to be able to celebrate with all our family and friends later this year!
