A World Heritage site and fantastic place to bimble about. Explore Salts Mill and take a walk through Robert's Park and down the Leeds Liverpool Canal. Stop off for a coffee (and a genuinely fantastic millionaire's shortbread) at Higher Ground. If you're looking for a place to eat, Salt's Diner, the Saltaire Bakery and SALT are all Halliday-Ward recommended.
A Yorkshire staple with gorgeous staff. Michael will be on annual leave from Bettys during the week of the wedding, so you'd have some peace and quiet if you popped in.
The very restaurant where Michael first met the love of his life; Cain Dingle.
Famous for the Bronte sisters, Haworth is a picturesque village that is perfect for your grid post, and also spending £45 on shite.
Beautiful Bradford (City of Culture 2025), is home to the sometimes extraordinary Media Museum. A bonus; it's free! Once you've had a look around, explore the city where Kimberly Walsh was born and Tom Halliday was kidnapped!
A great starting point to the Ilkley Moor Circular if you're feeling fit. If not, the pub across the road does a great pint and a perfectly fine fish and chips. We recommend at least walking to the top of rocks for the views and to see the spot we got engaged!!
For any of you who love to pretend to like art like we do, Cartwright Hall is located in the middle of Lister Park and features a dedicated David Hockney gallery. We've been once and Tom got bored halfway round so we went to Greggs instead.
Speaking of places that we've got bored halfway round, Otley Chevin is a fantastic forest mini-hike with great views. If you fancy a trip into Otley afterwards, we recommend Underground Bakery for a coffee, or nip into the farm shop net door if you love paying £6 for crisps.
