Flight
The closest airport to Pigeon Forge is in Knoxville, TN. From the airport, it is approximately a 45 minute drive to the Pigeon Forge, TN area. You can typically take an Uber or a Lyft between Knoxville & Pigeon Forge, but we'd recommend renting a car if you plan on exploring the surrounding areas (especially the National Park). Alternatively, you can consider flying into/out of: - Asheville Regional Airport (AVL) in North Carolina and driving through the Smokies 1.5 hours to reach Pigeon Forge. There are often more direct flights to Asheville. - Nashville International Airport (BNA) and driving ~3 hours to reach Pigeon Forge. There are often cheaper flights to Nashville and you can extend your trip and explore another area. If you cannot or decide not to rent a car and are not comfortable with using ride shares, please let us know and we'll do our best to help you coordinate a ride with some of our other friends & family who plan on flying in as well.
Travel Note
If you live within a reasonable driving distance of Pigeon Forge, you may wish to consider a road trip! Every time we've gone to Tennessee, we have made the drive and have enjoyed it! If you're traveling from the NY/NJ area, we'd recommend stopping at these sights along the way to give yourself a break from driving: 1. Shenandoah National Park (VA) is about halfway through the drive and offers some beautiful views and a chance to get out and stretch your legs. 2. Roanoke, VA is a little over halfway to the venue and has some cute shops to walk around and great places to stop for food (we liked Jack Brown's Beer & Burger Joint). 3. New River Gorge National Park (WV) is another great stopping point almost 3/4 of the way to Pigeon Forge and offers a few easy hikes with nice views if you're short on time. If you're planning on making the full trip in one shot (we've done it twice!), plan for it to take about 12 hours when factoring in short stops for gas, meals, driving breaks, etc.
Travel Note
Shuttle service will only be available for guests staying at The Ramsey, but we understand some of our guests might want to stay at different hotels or local cabins. Personally, we enjoy staying in nearby Gatlinburg the most! Here are some other places you might want to check out if you're extending your stay: - Elk Springs Resort: A cabin rental agency with many cabins in both Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg - Airbnb: You can find many beautiful cabins in Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg! We've always loved staying at Blue Bird Point, hosted by Chris. - Black Fox Lodge in Pigeon Forge - The Appy Lodge in Gatlinburg
