We officially met on a Friday night, which happened to be the first day of Thanksgiving break. My friends had already left town to visit home, and I was still at school. I decided to do what I did on most Friday nights, and headed to the indoor soccer arena to play some pick up. The campus was deserted, but Jeremy showed up with some of his friends around the same time I did. I saw them, and (naturally) invited them to play soccer with me. They accepted my invitation, and after soccer, I accepted their invitation to come over for “Friends-giving” dinner (their last gathering before Thanksgiving break). Jeremy was quick to ask me out after that, and we've been together ever since!
Three amazing years later, Jeremy got down on one knee and asked me to marry him when I was least expecting it! We were in New York visiting my family for Christmas, and I had caught an awful case of the flu. Jeremy planned a nice brunch with my family so he could pop the question, but it kept getting pushed back due to my being sick. Finally, I was lured out of my house under the impression that I was going out for dessert to celebrate my sister's birthday which was a few days away. We were enjoying some dessert and snacks at the restaurant (*shout out to Shadows on the Hudson), when a waiter handed me a box. At that time, I knew what was going to happen. I excitedly started to open the box, which was more of a challenge than expected because my mom decided to tape two more boxes completely shut inside of that one! As I was struggling with the boxes, I could see my friends walking over with their cameras. I managed to get to the ring, and Jeremy got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him in front of my friends and family.
