Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre

Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre

18300 West Alameda Parkway, Morrison, CO 80465

Red Rocks Amphitheatre is an open-air amphitheatre built into a rock structure near Morrison, Colorado. You can walk in and around the Amphitheatre for free and check out some beautiful views. There are lots of easy hikes surrounding the area as well. Please note, if there is a concert later in the day that you visit, they do not allow free visitation past 2pm. After then, you will need a ticket for the concert to be allowed in. Red Rocks Amphitheatre is about 30 minutes from the city of Denver and 13 minutes from the hotel.

Rockies Baseball Game

Rockies Baseball Game

2001 Blake Street, Denver, CO 80205

Coors Field is a baseball park located in downtown Denver, Colorado and is the home field of the Colorado Rockies! The Rockies will be playing at home, against the Atlanta Braves and the San Francisco Giants the entire weekend of our wedding. Pack your baseball hat and your appetite for a hot dog and head over to a ball game! The stadium is right in the center of the city and about a 20 min drive from the hotel.

Rocky Mountain National Park

Rocky Mountain National Park

CO

Drive around Rocky Mountain National Park to see beautiful views and, if you're lucky, some animals! A day pass for the park is $25 per car, but it is definitely worth driving through and exploring some easy hiking trails. One of our first and favorite hikes in Colorado is the Emerald Lake trail. It is a 3.1 mile hike that is on the easy to moderate side. To start this hike, you will need to start at the Bear Lake Trailhead. It is a highly trafficked trail and should be easy to find your way around. We recommend wearing hiking shoes and workout clothing, however sneakers and jeans can work. Rocky Mountain National Park is about a 1.5 hour drive from the city of Denver and the airport.

Pikes Peak

Pikes Peak

CO

Pikes Peak is one of the tallest 14ers in Colorado! If you don't know, a 14er is a mountain that is 14,000 feet above sea level. You can hike pikes peak (21.3 miles with a 7,401 feet elevation gain) or you can drive/take a tour to the top! A tour costs about $69.50 per person and takes about 4 hours. If you rather drive yourself, it is $10 per person and takes about 2-3 hours to go up and back down. You will drive to a certain point, park your car and then take a free shuttle to the top. Please check online to see if Pikes Peak Highway is open before driving up; weather can vary. Also, try one of their "magic" donuts made from America's highest deep fryer. You must eat them at the summit of Pike Peak! They don't taste the same in lower elevation.
