Although Katie and Joe had met through mutual friends a handful of times, they truly got to know each other after joining a kickball league together in the summer of 2021. As the one in charge of setting the teams each week, Katie not-so-slyly made sure they were always on the same team so they had more opportunities to get to know each other. Not long after Joe asked Katie out on their "first date" for a round of golf at Sunken Gardens and the rest is history! Throughout the years Katie and Joe have loved exploring national parks, playing endless games of cribbage, and cooking new foods together.

On the first night of a weekend away in Kings Beach, Lake Tahoe, Joe and Katie went out to dinner at Jason's Beachside Grille and then took a stroll on the beach. Once they reached the Kings Beach Pier, they stopped to check out the sunset when Joe got down on one knee and proposed! They spent the rest of the weekend with their pup Brodie celebrating and enjoying the late summer Tahoe weather.
