Both Stuart and Briana joined the rest of the world in online dating in hopes of making a connection and meeting someone special. After some time and seeing what her options were (or were not), Briana decided to take a break from the online dating scene so she deleted the app from her phone. A week later, she received an email stating that she had one last chance to reactivate her account to see a new message she had received (we all know, this is how they reel you back in). Of course, the curiosity was killing her so she decided to check out the mysterious message. It was from an undeniably handsome man named Stuart who was a Scientist. The two ended up talking on the phone for hours that night and every night for the next 2 weeks prior to their first date.
The plan was to meet on a Thursday for dinner at a restaurant in Ocean Beach called 3rd Corner. A suggestion from Stuart, and a great one at that. The Thursday arrived, and just to be sure, Briana texted Stuart to double-check that the date was still on. When dating in San Diego you quickly learn that the men here tend to bail when the time to meet finally arrives. Stuart reassured her that the date was still on and he in fact made reservations. RESERVATIONS?! She was shocked. That small gesture alone proved to Briana that Stuart was different in the best way possible. The two met at the restaurant and were the last to leave before the place was ready to close. Not ready to end the night, they walked around the beach town and had drinks at a nearby bar. The date ended with a kiss and the rest is history!
After 7 months apart, Briana traveled back to San Diego from Boston to reunite with her favorite city, and of course, her favorite person - Stuart. The two spent the next few weeks enjoying all that sunny San Diego had to offer that Briana missed so much. They went kayaking, hiking, rode bikes, enjoyed drinks, and eventually met a small group of friends on the bay for a bonfire to watch the sunset. As Briana was chatting the night away, Stuart grabbed Theo and had her searching for a foreign object stuck in his fur (which tends to happen, the dog is like Velcro). After a few long minutes of searching, she finally found what was hidden in all those curls - a beautiful shiny object reflecting in the light from the fire - it was the ring! Stuart had attached the ring to Theo's collar and asked her to be his wife. She said YES!
