The mountain weather ranges in summer. We recommend layers for the daytime. The evenings can get cold, so we recommend packing sweaters or even a light puffer jacket. We also highly recommend packing sensible shoes for the mountains. If you have hiking boots, we suggest bringing them. Oh, and don’t forget your cowboy hat and boots for Friday night!
Think formal, but with a "mountain chic" spin on it. Mountain temperature fluctuates dramatically. The weather in Telluride can hit a low of 50 degrees at night, but while the sun is out, it will still be very warm. Consider the fabric of your clothing and the type of shoes practically. On the mountain at night, heavy fabrics like fur, wraps, and velvet will keep you warm when the sun goes down. The venue is a ranch with wooden plank decks. We recommend block heels for women.
There are not many places to get your hair done in Telluride, but you can call Aveda Telluride Spa, Hair 9 Salon, Alchemy, The Peaks, The Fairmont (aka The Franz Klammer), and Moxie Loft.

Telluride is located at an elevation of 8,750 ft with the reception at 10,540 ft. It is likely that you will notice the effects of the altitude, such as shortness of breath, and light-headedness. In general it may take a couple of days to get acclimated. Because of this we strongly suggest you arrive a few days early to give yourself time to adjust. To cope with the altitude it is important to remain well hydrated and take it easy on the caffeinated and alcoholic beverages. Some have reported that taking aspirin (blood thinner) helps suppress the maladies of altitude sickness. If you are feeling the altitude, we suggest going to an oxygen bar and taking Acli-mate, which you can take a few days prior to your arrival to help adjust. Supplies are available at Sunshine Pharmacy in Mountain Village and in Town. If you have experienced altitude sickness before, you may want to ask your doctor about medication.
