Rodas was nowhere to be found. It was 1983 and Tescia was born in Norwalk, CT on a cold winter day. She entered the world with a pasty purple hue at 7:15 am. Her dad soothed her to sleep with jazz music as a lullaby. She was the youngest of all her cousins—the last baby to be born. Rodas was still nowhere to be found. Tescia was still in Norwalk. She spent her afternoons in her bassinet beside her father while he built their sailboat. At age three she was performing for an audience of two parents, two cats, and one frazzled Paddington bear. And she spent her evenings in the makeshift jazz club of her father's yellow shag-carpeted den sitting next to him as he played piano. Three years later Rodas was born. It was 1986 in Lima Peru on a Saturday summer morning. He was the poster child of his family. The first baby to be born on his father's side and a regular attention-getter. He was surrounded by many parents made up of aunties and uncles and grandparents too. He loved being outside and would drive his little car around with his little outfits. Tescia's little car was nowhere to be found. Rodas was also a creative little kid, but instead of performing what was in his imagination, he drew it. He drew all sorts of scenes and characters. Everything and everyone was a cartoon to him and this was a key component of his developing sense of humor. When he was three he was given a tiny guitar about the same time Omar was born, suspicious. But with everything in his life, he focused his attention on it and eventually became a rockstar. Literally. Rockstardom for Tescia was nowhere to be found. But she did attempt it. Starting in the choir and then onto a ska-band Tescia sang her way through life. Flowing freely through her ups and downs while Rodas carried a steady tune. The two grew up worlds apart but they were already in harmony before they knew it. Fast forward to 2019. Rodas arrived in LA in October. When he walked into the office there were two tables—one where he sat and one coined "The Blondes" table. Tescia sat there, against the wall peering over the computer. She didn't pay much attention to Rodas, at first, but day-by-day she noticed his loud clothes and his quiet steady energy. As the end of October rolled in Tescia joined Rodas and friends for dinner and karaoke. They gravitated toward each other in that little karaoke room. They bonded over a mutual friend and took their very first picture. And that was the very first night they held hands. Rodas is calm. It's one of his best qualities and Tescia, well not quite calm at all. They found peace in each other as opposites that led to more hand-holding (no matter what Tres may say, this is true). Since Rodas was new to LA he was often building furniture, and Tescia offered to help. She had grown up in her dad's workshop and felt safe around power tools and hammers. Confused and curious about the attention he was getting from this American. He thought "What does she want?" One night after a failed attempt at a Hinge first date, Tescia invited Rodas to a bar. They rode home together on scooters (definitely not holding hands, that’s unsafe). A few weeks later when the world got knocked to its knees Tescia and Rodas found a new kind of harmony in simple days spent together, laughter, music, a baby dog, and their growing love for each other. And what did Tescia want? The same thing as Rodas. Each other's hand to hold forever. A couple of weeks before they started dating while they were on set Tescia read Rodas’ palms. She saw a long and happy relationship in his future.
