Taylor and Drew met the modern way: by swiping right on Tinder (swoon!) in 2019. Taylor was living in Cincinnati (attending UC) and Drew had moved to Cincinnati after college for a job opportunity. Their first date would foreshadow a mutual love they will share for the rest of their relationship, but neither of them knew it at the time... a Mexican Restaurant! Things went well and conversations continued, and before they knew it, they were dating!
The next major step in their relationship was Taylor meeting Caesar (Drew's lovey orange feline pal). Caesar was very protective of Drew and made sure to let Taylor know that every chance he could! The longer Taylor was around, the more okay he was. After many pets exchanged and play times had, Caesar determined that Taylor was okay. He still prefers Drew and will use Taylor as a bridge to get to Drew, but he makes sure to stop on his journey and give his mom some love.
We all know that when March of 2020 hit, all of our lives changed a little. Taylor (temporarily) moved in with Drew and Caesar while quarantining, but somehow she managed to never leave. At the end of both of their leases, a decision was made to rent a house on the West Side of Cincinnati together. They moved in together (officially)! They enjoyed taking trips, decorating their new house and even gaining a new furry friend (Maia)!!! Taylor had somehow managed to talk Drew into adopting a 4 month old puppy. She was energetic, super snuggly, and of course rotten (only a few toys were shredded before we realized she was a super-chewer). Only a short year later, the management company decided to not re-rent the house and Taylor and Drew were faced with a tough situation, 45 days to find a new place to live. Phone calls were made, and numbers were crunched and buying seemed like their best bet. Although this was an emergent issue, the couple had a vacation to Gatlinburg planned that weekend.
Taylor, Drew, and Maia all packed up in the car and drove to Gatlinburg, TN for a weekend getaway. After a long day of hiking, we headed into town to enjoy the nightlife. Taylor asked to go to moonshine tasting first, shocker, but Drew said after the Sky Bridge. This should have been clue number 1 for Taylor, because Drew doesn't tell her no very often LOL. A scary (for Taylor) ride up the ski lift to the Sky Bridge was going to be worth it in just a few short minutes. At the entrance to the bridge, Drew stopped and asked Taylor for a photo at the arch. This should have been clue number 2 because they are a very enjoy the moment type of couple. When taking the picture, Drew asked Taylor to take off her sunglasses. This was definitely clue number 3. It was sunny, and why should she have to take off her sunglasses, but she obliged. Next thing you know, Drew was down on one knee proposing, and of course Taylor was in utmost surprise. She said yes, and their trip would be one they would never forget. When deciding on celebratory dinner, there was an obvious choice, MEXICAN!! Oh, and yes, lots of moonshine was purchased and consumed that weekend to celebrate!
Drew and Taylor bought a house and have been loving doing projects together. They have also become dog fosters through the rescue they adopted Maia at, SAAP. Drew recently got a new job working in IT and Taylor started working for Dayton Fire Department as an EMT. They have enjoyed going camping together, watching movies, and of course taking almost weekly trips to Cancun (The Mexican Restaurant up the street that has the best Margaritas ever)!!!
