I'm Michelle, Alex's Mom. I remember a special day several years ago around when Alex and Tate first got to know each other. It was February and my husband, Ed, and Alex and his sister, Yvonne, decided to surprise me for my birthday with a day in Ithaca and dinner in Syracuse at "Texas de Brazil". Alex and Tate spent the day with us and we met our daughter Yvonne and her boyfriend, Matt in Syracuse. It was a great day and dinner was just wonderful. We sat at the table and enjoyed the company of each other and I remember looking at my children and at Tate and Matt and thinking, "This is my future family!" After dinner we started home and it started snowing. The roads got worse as we headed South and Ed handed his phone to Tate so that she could let Alan and Christine know that we would be late, but that all was well. Tate and Alex were in the back seat and she leaned against his shoulder and fell asleep. We were warm in the car and safe and all was well. I hope that everything is always warm, comfortable, safe, and well for Alex and Tate!

I am Tate's and now about to be Alex's dad. Christine always says that as long as Tate is with AP we know that she is safe. I think it's safe to say that she's also happy and loved. We are thrilled that Tate and Alex found each other and are looking forward to watching their life together unfold. I was told to pick my favorite thing about Alex but it's difficult to choose...he's kind, he's loving, he's smart, he's funny. Bottom line he loves our daughter and they complete each other. I love you both!

I'm Ed, Alex's Dad. One day when Alex was a student at Seton he came home and told me that he wanted to get a ukulele. He asked if I knew where one could be found. He told me that his friend Tate had started a "Ukulele Club" and convinced him to get one and to try learning how to play. After searching Clinton Street we found a "serviceable" instrument and he soon moved up to a much better model from Guitar Center. From there he progressed to a whole family of strings: mandolin, guitar, electric guitar, and banjo. That ukueele was really a "gateway instrument". Later on at a track-meet I finally met Tate. Two things were immediately obvious to me. First, Tate really (and I mean really) liked Alex — underlined and in italics. Second, Alex was totally clueless that Tate had her eye on him. Well, Tate was about the nicest person I could imagine Alex meeting and I was happy to let life take its course. And I can't complain about the direction things have taken. Although I never thought that course would lead to Kansas, I'm thrilled that they are walking their path together and that Tate is part of our family.

Her and AP unofficially adopted me and kept me going through vet school with bread, wine, and good vibes! My favorite thing about AP is getting to share our nerdy interests while Tate silently suffers through it all because she loves us!

Hi!!! I’m Melissa! I met Tate and on my first day of gross anatomy, along with Katelyn! We quickly became inseparable and going a day without seeing or hearing from each other never happens. Veterinary school has bonded us in ways hard to describe, but we have seen each other at our best and worst, and are always there to support each other. Tate is truly a ray of sunshine and brings joy to everyone around her. My favorite thing about AP is how loving he is towards Tate and how welcoming he is towards everyone he meets!

Yo I’m Foster Beach and I’m one of the groomsmen. I am Adam Ackerman’s best friend and I’ve know the Ackerman clan for a while. I met AP through Tate and I remember the days that we weren’t quite trusted yet to drive pops truck and so Tate and AP would take their sweet time to come and pick us up after our lawn guys jobs. One of my favorite things about AP is his bread. And my favorite thing about Tate is her genius when it comes to animals, I will be bringing a random animal to the wedding but I’m not telling anyone.
