It was Symantha's first day of public school since the 1st grade, the first student she saw was Travis across the room in the first classroom of her school tour. She instantly felt a connection to that tall, shaggy, redheaded boy by the window laughing with his friends. They always competed to see who was taller (it was always Travis by a little) and she often wore a pair of high-healed blowfish sneakers to one-up him. Since they had many classes together they talked often, raced each other from I&E to lunch, and it was always an adventure. Once they even tried to catch a squirrel in the band room, unsuccessfully. Ever since they've been practically inseparable!

Travis was too scared to ask Sam to be his girlfriend and he would say “I need to ask you a serious question,” and when Sam would ask what the question was he would say “do you like pie? What kind of pie is your favorite?” Finally he gained the courage to ask her to be his girlfriend on March 2nd 2014 around 10:30 pm just as her dad came home from work.

On May 16th 2021 Travis, Symantha, Collin, and Hunter went on a hike at Bilger’s rocks. They had fun, took pictures, and had lots of laughs. Collin laid in a freezing mountajn stream and Travis got dropped off a makeshift see-saw. On the way home Hunter said “lets stop at tally rand, the lighting is really good,” they walked around the park for a bit and Hunter took a video of Travis and Sam walkjng across the bridge. When they got to the other side he said “lets get some pictures with those ducks and geese,” so they walked toward the water. Collin was walking Murphy, Travis and Sam’s boxer, and said “Murphy I’m going to let you off the leash so you can go taste some ducks!” As Sam turned to yell at him and say no, Hunter passed the ring to Travis behind her back. When Sam turned back around, expecting to pose for pictures, Travis was on one knee and asked “Will you marry me?”
